I signed up for both art and writing for the DWBB, which is great, but I have NO idea what I want to write. Especially or mor particularly, what I want to write that hasn't been written before by either me or by someone else (and no doubt better than me).

I've got some WIPs languishing in folders on my laptop, but I'm not sure any of them have enough meat in them to get me to either the 5k or 10k minimums. I've also got a folder full of random ideas (most of which are only really any good for J2s though).

Maybe you chaps can help me decide. Here's what I've got already, either WIPs or just ideas:

Sam brings a girlfriend called Fleur back to the bunker. Dean isn't happy about it and thinks there's something off about Fleur, but he can't quite put his finger on what it is that is upsetting him - apart from the obvious - that having Sam banging a girl in their bunker is somewhat disturbing. Then Sam goes missing one night, leaving Dean and Fleur to look for him. There's owls and Celtic myths involved, and I've got 2k of this one written.

Dean adopts a stray dog called Angel who can see portals into other worlds and has imaginary friends. Nothing written at all on this one so I'd be starting from scratch with no plot, or anything more than that sentence.

Northern Exposure. A season 2 case fic that takes the boys to a remote town in Alaska to tangle with an Innuit witch. This one features some hurt!Dean, because that's what I do. I've got over 5k written but it's been sitting on my hard drive for 5 years so i'll probably have to rewrite it all.

Dean, the Queen and the Campervan. Sam & Dean encounter a VW campervan broken down in the desert and Sam volunteers Dean to fix it. Turns out it's owned by a drag queen on her way to (somewhere). I dunno about this one, it's kind of based on a weird dream I had about Dean and the actual Queen of England. Which might be also one way to take this idea.

Pretty is as pretty does. Dean is the victim of a spell or potion that makes him irresitibly attractive. It's funny until it isn't. I've got about 800 words written of this one, but no idea where the story should go.

At th moment I'm leaning towards #1 but I honestly don't know!

I had the pleasure of working with oceanbluecas and sixxstiel on this year's casefic. Unfortunately, due to lions and bears and JIBcon, I only had time for one main picture, which I cannibalised to make the banner and some icons.

There has been some controversy about this one, but I'm recommending it without hesitation because it's brilliant.
The Persistence of Memory by

blackrabbit42 is so much more than a love story, and even more than a fascinating concept (though it is both of those too). It's thought provoking, it's insightful. It provides a beautifully sympathetic look inside the head of a talented autistic young man, and inside the head of another young man with an affliction that is strange and terrible in its consequences.

It's not light and fluffy, but it it is gorgeous. It will pull you in and not let go.

And the art is beautiful too.

Fic summary: When a hunting injury leaves Sam temporarily blinded, Dean has to step back into his old role as his brother's keeper, helping Sam adjust to his new life while they both wait for recovery to take place. Old roles don't come without their shadows, leaving both Sam and Dean to deal with long-repressed, now resurfacing memories and the grey fields of healthy and unhealthy dependence, limits of familial affection and, ultimately, the questions of desire and longing.

dollarformyname's most excellent story, Past Today, written for the little known

The story summary goes like this: Terminal City was abandoned after an attack five years ago, survivors scattered to fend for themselves. Alec's been on his own for a while now, trying to forget what he lost, but then Ben shows up to make him remember in all the wrong ways. After an armed robbery and a city-wide manhunt that results in high-speed chases, gunshot wounds, more dead transgenics, and a hostage situation or two, Alec tracks Ben down to thank him properly.

The big bang tracker is here to, amazingly, track all the big bangs going on around the internet, and all the deadlines for check-ins, claims, final drafts, posting and everything else. None of it's automated, so there will be mistakes.

LiveJournal doesn't allow embedding, so the Google calendar is just a link. If anyone can suggest a way around that, I'll give it a go.

There will be fortnightly summaries of what's happening, including all the big bangs that are still open for sign-ups. Beyond that, I'm not sure what will be most useful. A database of all active bangs, and one of all the lapsed ones? Pan-bang chatter and help posts? If you want it, let me know.

On a similar note, if you are modding or taking part in a big bang and would like it adding to the calendar, please drop me a message. I'll be keeping track of

bigbangindex, but things slip through the cracks, especially if they're not listed on there.

A Ruby/Gen art for genteensybang (claiming on Friday 9th, draft due 13th April)

Fic for history_bigbang - drafts are due 15th March, and I'm pretty much done, I just need to finish the edits from my lovely beta and my language advisors (Danish and Polish!)

Art for history_bigbang - I've done one picture, of Jörmungandr the snake/dragon plus Fenrir and Vali, two of Loki's children who are wolves. I need to decide what else to do - I'm thinking of doing something with Nari, Hel and Sleipnir.

Claims for art for comics_bb are on 3rd May on LJ and on DW too.

3rd May is going to be a busy day - apart from the comics_bb it is also artists' claiming day for casestory and the day that summaries get posted for spn_j2_bigbang...with claiming the following day.

Then I've got nearly 2 weeks away at JIB and Asylum 10.

Rough drafts for spn_j2_bigbang are due on my birthday...

Not sure what I am thinking here but I just signed up for this as artist and author....Still, plenty of time to think about what I might want to write and the rules are very flexible, I could even write another historical adventure for the Winchesters....
