Okay, LFCC is no San Diego, but it's big enough for me. This year our little band of hunters didn't have any GISHWHES tasks to do, so we could wander round and do our own thing, which actually meant at times we were like ships that pass in the night. I even persuaded Paul to come, and he enjoyed his mini-geek fest, going to a few of the free panels and ogling the Wonder Women and Cat Women. He has a bit of a thing for slinky women in black lycra LOL.

I wasn't sure I could edit the first pic well enough so I started afresh. I think this one is a little more successful. I did have two other goes actually, but the second one went really badly awry in terms of a likeness so that's definitely NOT going anywhere! So this is the one I think I'll get signed.

It's not the final version, I've made his head a bit wider at the back in the shadows, and darkened the background round his face to make it stand out a bit more. I thought I'd try using some pre-printed craft card so I had a ready made background. This is approx 30cm square.

I think it's worked reasonably well. It was quite hard to see what I was doing to start with, but once I got some the layers of pastels down it got easier. It's still a bit long in the face for Wash but I'm not too ashamed of it! LOL

I'm going to the London Film & Comic Con on Saturday and am getting an autograph from a certain actor - so I thought I'd try using the new pastels on coloured paper techniques to create something for him to sign. But, dear flisties, does this look enough like him to ask him to sign it?
All concrit gratefully received.

If it is recognisable and not too awful, I'll use this. If it needs tweaking I can have a go. If it's not good enough I'll start again. The colours haven't photographed quite right, this makes it look like there's a lot of white on his face that isn't so glaring on the drawing. (I think/hope).

it's past time for a Firefly marathon.

I've done a couple of new t shirt designs on Redbubble - A Supernatural baby and Grandparent matching shirts and A Firefly quotes one for a change. So now I have a Dr Who and a Firefly shirt to leaven the overload of SPN! LOL
