Summer storm - art
Jul. 13th, 2016 10:09 pmI had this idea in mind for spn_heatwave, and had got as far as an outline sketch, but totally failed to meet the deadline. But I was procrastinating over doing other things today and ended up finishing this instead. The idea came from a prompt by
madebyme_x which asked for getting caught in a summer storm with rain and lightning.
So happy summer, folks!

Lady Drury's Closet - Part 3

The first sensation to hit Dean was pain. Which figured – story of his life after all. The second was a raging thirst so bad he felt he’d been desiccated, staked out in a desert for a few days and left to dry like a piece of meat. Third was his default setting – a wave of near panic. Where was Sam?

Lady Drury's Closet - Part 2

Dean meant to follow Sam straight out of there, but he couldn’t just walk away, knowing Claire was stuck there somehow, and not knowing if she could see or hear anything – little ten year old Joel Hart too, for that matter. He lingered by their panel for a moment, glad that the picture the two kids were placed in wasn’t one of the really weird ones – like that one over there with the flying orange eagle that was carrying an elephant in its talons, or the creepy old man with donkey ears and ants crawling over him. What was this artist smoking, anyhow, to come up with this shit?

Title: Lady Drury’s Closet
Rating: PG-13
Approximate final word count: ~15k
Pairings: Gen
Characters: Sam, Dean, Jody, Alex, Claire, OFC, Billie. Dean is 45, Sam is 41.
Warnings: Use of the F word
Summary: Set in a future where both the Darkness and Lucifer are no longer an issue. Jody calls in Dean and Sam to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a man from a locked room. Things get complicated when both Claire and the room itself vanishes from the missing man’s house. The boys investigation is dead in the water until several months later, when Sam finds a report of a missing child who’s disappeared in similar circumstances right on their doorstep in Lebanon.
Art by entirely-the-wrong-sort and fangirl_litra. Many thanks for choosing my story! Art links - fangirl_litra's cool colouring and animation of one of entirely's line arts is HERE. Other links are coming soon.
Acknowledgements - a special mention to my beta,

Birthday cock ups! Oops
Feb. 7th, 2016 10:44 amIt's
borgmama1of5's 60th birhtday today. Happy Birthday to one of the loveliest folk on my flist!
So, um, here's the thing. She has a special request over on her journal which I totally misread and so here's your birthday gift - pretty much the opposite of what you asked for! LOL Sorry my dear - I'm blaming my own advanced age.
Can we pretend this was Season 3? LOL

So it might not have been the best season opener ever, I might not have been totally grabbed by the heart strings or invested at the time - but thinky thoughts still ensued so...drabble.

Yours sincerely, Wasting Away - ficlet
Jan. 4th, 2014 03:18 pmTitle: Yours sincerely, Wasting Away
Rating: R
Words: 1448
Warnings: Unbeta’d. Permanent injury, the rigours of old age. A little swearing. Old people sexings (non graphic)
Summary: Curtain fic. Old age was something Dean Winchester had never thought to experience, yet here they both are, still in the Bunker and still alive. They’ve even gone beyond will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I’m sixty four… It’s a good job Dean still remembers about happy endings.
A kind pf prequel to a fic I wrote a while ago An Ordinary Death.

Blade - a drabble
Jun. 30th, 2013 10:44 pmBlade
***********
E/O Drabble Challenge: word count 100
Challenge word: adolescent
Warnings: None
Summary: Now Sam can finally see into Dean’s heart, he hates that other people can’t see what he can.
Possibly a Season 5 revelation, though it could be any time after season 4, I think.
***********
Sam gets mad sometimes.
Because this is all people see – the fancy sheath and not the blade within.
So they jump to conclusions. Judge the outside, never thinking to look deeper; past the adolescent bravado and easy smile to the vulnerability beneath.
Sam knows he shouldn’t be angry; it’s hypocrisy after years of his own selective blindness when it comes to Dean, but now he can’t unsee it.
That fine honed edge, the worn pitted surface of the steel, the way it can only flex so far before it breaks.
And how close his brother’s blade is to shattering now.
***********

Jun. 2nd, 2013 07:53 pmThese both came from the same head space...and it's fairly angsty.
The Heart of Darkness
***********
E/O Drabble Challenge: word count 100
Challenge word: dip
Warnings: None
Summary: Dean and Sam’s experiences of Hell and loss are not so different. In the end, there is only one thing that really matters.
***********
Dean looked into the heart of darkness, and darkness looked right back. It dipped its talons deep into the heart of him and tore.
Rent apart, scattered, bleeding. Lost.
Castiel saw deep into his soul. How Dean believed he didn’t deserve to be saved.
Dean was wrong.
Sam fell into the heart of darkness thinking he could control it. Using blood and rage and the power of his grieving. He tried and failed. He believed sacrifice would save him.
Sam was wrong.
All that mattered was the fire of brotherhood that welded them together.
It was all that ever mattered.

Left Behind
***********
E/O Drabble Challenge: word count 100
Challenge word: dip
Warnings: None
Summary: A little dip into Sam’s head after Dean’s Hell deal and his disappearance into Purgatory.
***********
Here’s the thing about Dean.
He is never the one who leaves.
So when Dean dies every Tuesday, when he sells his soul, when the Hellhounds come for him, Sam can’t believe it’s real. He’s never been the one watching while Dean walks away.
That first time makes Sam crazy. Then it makes him mad. Dark rage consumes him, burns him up.
The second time Dean leaves him, in that laboratory when Roman’s gleaming smile explodes on them, Sam has no reserves left to dip into and he falls apart.
He can’t be the one who’s left behind. Not again.
