This is a different format for an art rec post - and I haven't forgotten I said I was going to do an art rec post every month and only managed two!

quickreaver came up this idea: the ArtRec10 meme! Give us links to ten of your favorite pieces of SPN/RPF fandom artworks. Could be on LJ, tumblr, deviantart, wherever. We know there's lots of faves, but try to pick a few. Let's make today a little more beautiful! Couldn't we use that right now?

Topics may overlap — for instance, your h/c fill may be digital — but we'd like to see ten unique reccs, if you can manage it. Also, be sure to provide a link to the original art, so folks can leave love for the artist. If you choose to post the images, mind the image sizes and be sure to put it all under a cut.

I had thought about doing one of these every month, but I missed March already, so perhaps I'll just stick to a random reccing instead. I'm posting the pictures with links where I have them, and would urge you to go and view each art work via the artist's link so you can both leave appreciation where it's due, and see the art larger than I'm displaying it here.

Summary: Set at an unspecified time during Season 10. After Sam’s been re-souled and after Cas broke down his wall, after Dean and Castiel’s time in Purgatory, after Amelia and the dog, after Benny, after rescuing Bobby’s soul from Hell. After Sam’s angel possession has been resolved to no one’s satisfaction and Dean is demonless but still Marked, is it any wonder that Sam is messed up, Dean is messed up and nothing feels right?

They finish a case only to find Sam is trapped inside an invisible cage in the middle of their motel room. Dean can see into the cage, but Sam can’t see out. Unable to communicate, somehow they have to find a way to free Sam from this prison.

In celebration of Sam's birthday, the sammessiah AntiChristmas started posting today, and imagine my surprise to see the first post there is a gift for me! Squee!
It's by the wonderfully imaginative cassiopeia7 and shows Sam playing poker for Dean's soul. So you know you have to go and check it out right away, don't you...and leave cassiopeia7 LOADS of love, because it's an awesome fill!

So much going on at the moment that is good and happy-making - but no picture today as I didn't have my camera handy. Instead I offer you a little scene that greeted me on exiting my house at lunch time. In the Easter holidays the museum across the road is busy with lots of exciting things for kids, so when I was walking down the street there was a family skipping up the hill. Little Bro was lagging behind Big Bro and Mum pushing the tripper, shouting
"Knock knock!"
Mum obliged. "Who's there?"
"Cow!"
"Okay, cow who?"
Little Bro with tones of great scorn "Cows don't go WHO, Cows go MOO!"

Well, it put a smile on my face.

As has Springfling. I've already had my gift, which of course everyone should go and read forthwith. HERE. It's got Sam and Dean and androids, and somehow manages to give an AU for Seasons 1-3 (ish) in SPACE, folks, in less than 2500 words. It's fecking ace, chaps and chapesses.

And there is so much loveliness being posted over there, I haven't seen half of it yet, but here are a few recs
First THIS tragic dark maimed Dean/Jensen with tender winged Sam/Jared which is just crying out for a fic
Then there's THIS tantalising superhero/batmaneque ficlet that left me begging for more, and THIS first time wincest with hurts so good...
And THIS which is hot like whoa! Jensen as Jared's bodyguard with plot twists and scorching sex, and there are more, but I don't have time to rec them all here. Go and explore for yourself!

And there's a new episode tonight so tomorrow is download time. Huzzah!

A new cool idea from badbastion!

I hate tumblr - I get lost there for hours but then again, I find things like this...which is just fabulous.
Here's the link to anobviousaside's tumblr but make sure you view it full size (right clicking and view image did it for me) because it is beautiful and you need to see the detail.

And speaking of beautiful - here's one of my JIB 4 photo ops with me photoshopped out of it. It's not the greatest photoshopping effort but the best I could manage. Ok I know, I've effectively turned it into a Destiel/Cockles picture but I couldn't resist.
