Blood will Flow

I'm off to Brighton at the weekend for a Lucifer con with nearly all of the main cast, which is rather cool. Originally I'd thought I wouldn't bother getting the autographs that are included in my pass, but then I had a rethink, last minute as usual. Because I know what I'm like, when I get there I'll be wanting all those signatures, even though I don't know what to do with them afterwards. Just like I couldn't resist getting some photo ops. *sigh*

So anyway, that left me scrabbling round for an idea for something for them to sign. I'd ordered this concertina sketchbook a while ago with no idea what to do with it, then I had an idea...

Here's where I've got to so far. I'm aiming to add a bit more gold ink - maybe. I'll have to see what it looks like in the morning.

It's A5 size, so not too big, and the sketchbook came with a box, which is nice. Now I'll have to see if I can think of something else I could do in it for this year's JIB, maybe.

Since I need to produce something for Tom Ellis to sign before I leave for Italy, I thought I might take a couple of reference photos with me to work from in tonight's sketchbooking class. I kind of like the watercolour techniques we were trying but sadly, the end results don't resemble Tom very much at all. In fact the second one looks more like that Tyler thingy from Teenwolf. Which is weird since I've never watched the show and have only see pics of him at conventions and on Tumblr.

Never mind, it's all good practice!
First one (done on sketchbook paper which is really rubbish at taking watercolour, soaks it up like blotting paper).

Second one (done on this weird plastic-like paper I bought to try out, and it's quite fun to use).

I'm wondering whether I can now go over this subtle watercolour with something else and make it more like Tom.

Dean should have known better.


Deep inside him fear was building like water behind a dam. What if the reason Amara didn’t steal his soul was because she already owned it? What if he’d already lost?


It’s not that he really believed an ordinary steel blade would work against an elemental force older than the universe. It’s just that he had to do something, try anything to assert control, pretend he retained some ability to think and act independently, that he was still fighting on the right side.


He did know better, but it didn’t stop him wanting to believe.

Sam should have known better.


Why had he thought that God, silent for so long, would suddenly decide to speak directly to him? It’s not that he’d thought he was something special, not at all, but he might have hoped, just a tiny bit. The calm that came with the delusion was such a comfort, he hated to let it go.


But now he had to face the truth.  It was Lucifer in the cracks, leaking through the hairline fractures in his Cage and through the gaping fissures in Sam’s mind.


Now he knew better, and he finally stopped believing.

It burns my heart

Lucifer caged is no threat.  Sam keeps telling himself that, long after the hallucinations have stopped, because he needs the reassurance.  Why?  Because he can still hear Lucifer’s voice in his dreams.

The Prince of Darkness whispers to him ceaselessly.

Give me your hand, Sam…

No.

Cut your skin, let me in…

No, no, no… Sam moans in his sleep.  Dean isn’t there to wake him any more.  Dean has his room and his memory foam, while Sam just has… memories.

See how the molecules of us bleed into one another

Making us one again.

Some of the words and the title are from Keane's Black Burning Heart. It just screamed Lucifer to me...I love this song...

One of my Facebook friends (Thanks Lynda!) suggested I do a series of compilation-type pictures of Angels, Demons etc after I did a compilation of my Jared icons for a laugh.  So here's the first one - Angels.


I did two versions - just because...well, because I love detail but I also love colour...
