The Creative Sketchbooking course has been more about drawing stuff this term so far - much more my comfort zone than playing with flour and chalk.
I posted the right hand page before but the umbrella pic is new.

Here it is close up. Drawn with a Japanese brush felt tip pen.

Then last week we were trying to measure and get perspective by using one point on a reference picture and then scanning out from here to any points of interest. It was hard! But this time I chose a photo from a nice coffee table book about the TV series of Game of Thrones.

And again this week, we were trying using water to soften lines so this is using a black watercolour pencil. I know nothing, Jon Snow!

I love the effects, so I'll definitely be trying this again, though I did my usual thing of getting the nose and hence the whole face too long.
Got to admit, now I'm taking my own source pics, I'm enjoying the whole thing a lot more!

Date: 2017-02-09 02:39 am (UTC)The picture of the of the kids... that makes me sad. The Umbrellas is cool. The Tree, makes me think of Death. A Grim Reaper walking. Maybe that is why the kids picture makes me sad.

Date: 2017-02-10 03:25 pm (UTC)and i've always been interested in digital art and how it works. i want to know if it'll be something i'd be interested in.

Date: 2017-02-10 06:35 pm (UTC)I never used digital before I started SPN artings - I started using a pretty good free software program called GIMP - it does pretty much everything Photoshop does, so it's a good place to start. I would say it you play around with it and think you might like it, it's worth buying a drawing tablet to use, because trying to freehand draw using a mouse or keyboard is really difficult! Or if you have a tablet (iPad type) there are free drawing apps you can try too, though they don't have layers (which is a marvellous invention!).
