GISHWHES-Spam post!

I'm back! Did you miss me? He he he of course not. But now GISHWHES madness is over and we are on our post-Gish-blues downward spiral, which means it's time to share some of the STUFF!

Honestly, my team this year, chaps...I have no words for our wonderfulness. One team member had some home issues to deal with so ended up having to step out, but other than that, we went at it full pelt. Some of us UK-based team members managed to have a full day together in London to try and achieve as many tasks as poosible that needed more than one person. Something I've learned from GISHWHES (not that it changes the way I live my life) is that 90% of my human contact these days is online, so if I'm asked to get a group of five people together to do something - I'm struggling! And trying to get the big ticket items done when you don't know any one with the right kind of contacts - impossible. The odds are so stacked against folk just trying tweets and emails to stars and their agents - those guys get so many, the chances they'll see ours amongst the dross is infinitessimally small. Didn't stop me trying, mind! (Apologies to the management company for Adele, 5 seconds of Summer etc, to the Gay student society in Dublin and any number of other random folk I contacted to try and get tweets or whatever done!)

If you want to skip all the woffle about my contributions and just want a summary version, our lovely team captain, dean_hugs_sammy, put together a video with highlights.

So I tried sand sculpture - and as a result I've decided this is not my medium!

In case you can't tell, the challenge was to sculpt your fave SPN character in sand (or ice or snow) - Poor Bobby and Sam!
Then there was the usual Misha and the Queen picture to produce - this time they were to be 1950s pin up BFFs so of course they both demanded to be Marilyn.

It was nice of Misha to shave his legs, don't you think?
I won't post everything in one post, I think I'll just do random posts in the next few days when I need a boost. :D
Glad and sorry it's over, and I don't have any illusions that we will be the winning team, fabulous though we were (ain't that right thursdaysisters, theymp, jj1564, xlittleangx, sigrundora & dizzojay?), but I'm hoping we will get at least ONE item in the damn coffee book this year!

Next year!!! It was a lot of fun - and as usual now it's over I'm looking at other teams stuff and having this real mixed emotional reaction that swings between Holy crap how did they do THAT to bloody hell that's so naff...

LOL, I think it's a case of, you know everyone's doing stuff for the same challenges and are a little intrepid to find out what their take was on it. I've seen a few bits that definitely qualify as NAFF but then I've seen some stuff and gone, "HOW THE FUCK!"

Ha!!! Love your pinup picture. ;) And the sand sculptures! I'm always in awe of the people who make those giant fancy castles, because wow I can barely make a pile of sand. XD You got extremely human looking features onto yours!! Great job.

And I like your idea about not posting everything at once. Because I totally want to see what everyone did, but I haven't even seen everything MY team made, haha... I'm a bit overwhelmed! So it'll be nice to get yours periodically throughout this week. Looking forward!

That sand sculpture thing was a real last minute effort yesterday after I found some play sand in a local shop while shopping for something else! I was just saying to Milly, I have this love/hate thing going on with checking out everyone else's entries! I really want to see everything and get blown away but at the same time I get depressed when other team's stuff is awesome LOL!

I'll try to contribute something to your team next year. Maybe not regional things unless Misha knows other cities than Beijing in China. But I sure can try what Alexis Jane did, making portraits from different textures! Maybe I can involve my guinea pigs as well :)
