Eldritch Reverse Bang number 2 - I was such a lucky duck to have my second art piece chosen by morganaDW, who's written an epic J2 vs monster fic, with loads of hurt boys (so much my jam!).

The original prompt was this creepy SOB. No idea where this came from...

It was done using thick white acrylic paint to give texture, then watercolour over the top. I wasn't sure it would work, but I reckon it was quite effective!

This one was done in ink and watercolour, then the hand added digitally because my scanner is busted.

I love textured paint works that hold the afterimage of the brush strokes! It’s so raw. Like in the swirl around the red spot on the forehead of the mask, we can see the motion of your hand as you drag the paint into the desired shape. And then around the eyes as the white paint feathers into the empty sockets, the flow of the paint increases the feeling of disappearing into a dark hole 🥰🤗. And then the wash of red on top sliding over everything and dripping down like it’s still wet- like if I touch the screen my fingers will come back red 🙌🏼🎉. It’s glorious and so visceral and wonderfully creepy! Such a fantastic prompt! Plus it works so well as an exclamation point on the banner in contrast to the silhouettes. Fabulous job.
Oh and can’t forget to mention the Magic Business, I love the rich colours and the elegant classy design. It’s super cool.
Love this art set! I’ve really enjoyed looking at the pieces and seeing all the beautiful details 🤗😄

Thanks bunches! I'm glad you can still see the textures in the prompt pic — that's one issue with traditional art, I'm never sure how to photograph or scan it to best effect. That red I used if one of my fave watercolours from an Etsy maker, it's scarlet magnetite and the dark specs in it are the magnetite. Apparently you are able to move the magnetite around in suspension while the paint is still wet to get more effects but I haven't tried that yet. 😄

Shrieking — i remember this terrifying mask in previews and the additional art is stunning too. That depth and texture is incredible. And then I'm drooling copiously over your color as always. A tarot store somewhere just got its wings and would be blessed to get that card!!!

well that is just creepy as shit. that mask is dis. tur. bing. i really like it! the kind of 3d effect is fabulous and very horror-y, especially the way it looks kind of ragged around the eye sockets, and like the lips are a little sewn together.
