The Other Side - Marvel Big Bang 2022
Dec. 9th, 2022 10:34 pmHad a lovely time working with mumblemutter on this one!
The fic is an original twist on the Falcon and Winter Soldier's relationship, and I enjoyed the story as much as I'd hoped when I first read the summary.
Story LINK ON AO3!
Banners (I did two for reasons)

Only one picture but in spite of everything, I'm happy with it! (Yes I know, me happy? Was that a flying pig?)

Process
I thought I'd try something a bit larger scale, so I used a Canson Heritage 100% cotton block roughly A3 size - big disappointment with that paper! I don't know if it had been stored too long (I've not had it more than a year) but the surface was horrible to work on - the watercolour was sinking in in patches, and when I removed the masking fluid and tape the surface lifted, so when I was then painting those parts I was getting nasty textures I didn't want. One advantage of that was I couldn't over work it... ha ha!
So here's my first thumbnail concept idea

Progress shots (sorry the lighting is bad)

Pencil with some fineliner inking

Before trying to remove the masking fluid (blue bits)
