I'm very busy doing nothing and trying not to watch too much news to prevent my blood pressure sky rocketing (effing world, effing Trump, Effing Boris and his weapons-grade bellend advisor...) so here's some random art instead.

I bought some (more) new watercolours - I have poor impulse control while watching artists on Youtube videos. I think I now have sufficent supplies of watercolours, sketchbooks and paper to last the rest of my life. I need to find a young artist to bequeath my supplies to...

300gsm 100% cotton watercolour paper from some anon Chinese company, cheap enough for me to feel ok about practicing on it. Mjello Mission Gold pure pigment watercolours. Some dodgy attempts to do something cute.

M Graham watercolours in my Etchr sketchbook (also 100% cotton watercolour paper but 230gsm)
Trying the desert set colours to paint - you guessed it - a desert.

And finally, at Christmas my mum got me a 6 month subscription to Scrawlr Box. They send a fun box of art supplies every month to play with. This was the first box for a while where I thought I could perhaps be creative with the contents and though it's not strictly in the spirit of the challenge to only use what's in the box, since I ended up washing watercolour over the top, at least I did produce something!

It was supposed to be Jensen but yeah, not a great likeness. I kind of like it though.

Now it's the weekend, and I'm GISHing again in the mini hunt. Hopefully this list will have some more interesting, fun challenges this time, and fewer items that require kids, old folk and/or Americans to complete them...

I *love* that desert scene. The colors are spectacular!

(And I am with you on the news, 100%. Keep on 'arting'!)

Thanks, glad you like the desert! That was my fave of this lot.
The news has me alternating between fury, sadness and bemusement - but mostly fury.

He's a handsome man, but not quite Jensen, I agree. :) Your desert is stunning. My imagination immediately dumped Sam and Dean in the middle of it and the muse started trying to plot! I told her to shut it, we've got enough that we have to plot at the moment without throwing something new into the mix, but hey...maybe something deserty will make it's way into your next reverse bang offering.

It's been a horrible, horrible few weeks in the world. :(

It's Jensen-ish, rather than Jensen. 😂Glad you like the desert and hmmmmm a RB prompt featuring something similar is definitely a good idea! I do love desert settings for stories!

I am not loving the world right now though. Nope.

I love the desert painting! I like the drawing of Jensen, too. It actually has come out like a meld of Jensen and Jared :D

Well let's face it, a blend of those two couldn't come out ugly now, could it! 😂

I love watercolors so much, and I suck more with them than with any other sort of art tool or supplies. That desert landscape is gorgeous--and I love the starry sky one. The portrait is compelling--whether or not it's Jensen.

Ah thank you - and keep trying with your watercolours, I'm sure you will get better. All the artists I admire practice every day and I don't - I have this vague hope that I'll reach their level without the same dedication but surprisingly, it isn't happening. 😂

'effing world, effing Trump, Effing Boris and his weapons-grade bellend advisor..' AGREED!! Thanks heavens for art and writing. I love your desert art, it looks like the backdrop to a Western. And I think you've captured Jensen's smile and crinkly eyes well.
