Life, don't talk to me about life...
Oct. 15th, 2018 11:00 pmWell that was a bad fan week - I lost my draft fic for spn_cinema somehow, no idea how, but I must have deleted it before I did my backups. DOH. So I missed the draft submission deadline for that one, while I also had to admit I'm not going to get my Dean Winchester Big Bang fic done either. So I've pulled out of two challenges in the same week. I hate doing that once, let alone twice.
On the up side, I'm happy to report that my hare raised £3400 for Break kids charity in Norwich, and even better, my giraffe went for £7000 (my personal record so far!) in the auction in Worcester. Wish me luck for the other two auctions this week - the bees are on Wednesday and the car bonnet on Saturday. I should tot up what my sculpture paintings have raised so far over the last couple of years and add it to my resume!
Last week I went to Norwich to sign autographs!! It was the farewell event for everyone to see the hares all together before the auction, and they invited artists to come along and sign stuff and talk to the public. So funny to be on the other side of the table for a change! I think I signed 4-5 Hare guide books and 9 postcards. Fame at last!
Someone left a love pebble on our table too which was rather sweet.

And here's Hareport with some of his compatriots.

And a wee video I took just before the first members of the public came in (hope it works!)

Then last weekend we went up to Manchester to see the bees for the last time, and fitted in an ice hockey match too - man, that was a small rink they have there in Altrincham, but it was a good match. Close and exciting.
It was good to see all the bees, and really nice that my dead cousin's son and her youngest grandkid, Asha, came along too.
Here's Asha. She's cute.

Very windswept me with my bee. It was ridiculously windy - storm Callum, I think. But Callum was from Africa so it was actually really warm. Weird weather for October in Manchester.

Winder who's going to buy Bee-sy Rider...

Date: 2018-10-16 01:25 am (UTC)Sorry that you lost your draft. I've been lucky so far with my fics but I did something similar with the only video I took off my sister's birthday celebration. Felt horrible when I realized what happened.

Date: 2018-10-16 11:42 am (UTC)I think it's mostly businesses that bid for the animals but I know some go to individuals - my pig from a couple of years ago was bought by a family who have him in their garden in Felixstowe!

Date: 2018-10-17 12:35 am (UTC)Sorry to hear about the lost draft. I would have a hard time dealing with that which is why I have some things on several USB sticks, though not always on purpose but because they get full and I just have files that I always want to have with me in case the mood/Muse strikes. Pulling out of challenges happens, sometimes because of the Muse or RL or something else, don't be too hard on yourself because of that. *hugs*
