A weekend of mixed fortunes, the real downer being that I never got to meet madebyme_x because she had a nasty car accident on the way from Wales to Brimingham on Friday. Thankfully nobody was badly hurt (apart from the car, which was a write-off) but it suffiicently bad that she had to return home to recuperate. So there was no Daphne to my Velma, *insert sad face here*. Planning ahead though, I did the op as planned with a space to insert Daphne with a happy face, when madebyme_x has recovered from all the bruising and trauma.

Plus it has made us more determined to make sure she gets to a convention in the future, and maybe a few hunter gatherings before that.

On the upside - there was a decent showing with appearances by chellexxx, dizzojay, beelikej, stellamira, xlittleangx, dean_hugs_sammy, sasha_dragon, heavenli24 and crimsonepitaph, to name a few.
Here are some of us epically failing at a self timered photo, thanks to me. Yay! Go me!

I feel I ought to at least attempt a blog post before setting off to Rome tomorrow, before the two cons start blending into each other. Though Chris Schmelke's photos will help keep things straight in my head, because they are radically different from the JIB ones!

I've posted a load of panel vids over on my Youtube channel, mainly the ones involving the Js, and the rest are music ones. Which was great. Love me some live enthusiastic music from our multi-talented cast! I also love that the minute they set foot on stage outside the US they relax and dive into the innuendo. We Brits do love a bit of smut!

So anyhow. I had four photo ops. My friend Elisa hadn't managed to get a Jensen op as they sold out so fast, so I decided to ditch my beer hat idea and share him. We had hoped to do our own version of that photo shoot a while back where Jared lay on the floor between Jensen's legs, but luckily Chris is so approachable and we were in the queue inside the room waiting for Jensen to arrive, so I showed him my quick biro sketch. He imediately said that pose wouldn't work, because the lighting rig meant the floor area was too dark. So we revised the idea on the fly. the Elissa threw me off by going ahead of me then taking the near side, so we ended up with this...and Jensen didn't have a clue why two women wanted to stick their heads under his arms. LOL!!!!

And no, neither of us smelled his musk.

The thing was, the way Creation run things is so different. The photo with Jensen was the first thing we had to do on the Saturday, and therefore the first time we'd actually seen him at all. Other cons you are pretty likely to have been aclimatised to the glory before you have to go toe to toe with all that hotness. This was like being thrown into a supernova before we'd even got our sunblock out. Suffice it to say, he was looking incredible. Plus when he saw Elisa he recognised her and gave her this big beaming smile (another reason I wasn't exactly compos mentis when I shoved my head in his armpit.

The next photo was my first of two J2s. At the time we were still hoping madebyme would be feel up to coming for at least part of the con, so I'd decided to wait until Sunday to do the second j2 op, with me dressed as Velma. So this one was to be my longed for J2 jump photo. Again I'd snaffled Chris on Friday in passing and checked if I needed to do anything special to get one, and he said nope, just tell them to jump on three. So I had my reference sketch, the girl showed it to them, I double checked they were up for it and stood in between them like a wally while they sorted it all out like the true pros that thay are. And yup. Expectations well and truly met! I couldn't be happier!

I'll get a better pic of it when I return from JIB. However a better photo of this won't fix that fact that I have a very strange wand action going on there.

My last photo was my Velma Sam one and as experiences go it was pretty awesome, but sadly I fecking HATE the photo because I look AWFUL in it. I'm hanging onto the memory instead - Jared had to do a lot of maneuvering to get down anywhere near low enough for me so I think that's why Chris has zoomed in on us so much. I'd just got my right arm round that firm waist of his and turned to see what he was doing only to be faced with a lovely little pink pout, which - wow. Anyhow. So I panicked then, and thought oh hell, if he's doing kissy lips I'd better do kissy lips too with the end result being I look like a disapproving granny LOL!!! But phew. I'm not forgetting Jared's kissy face in a hurry.


In spite of the horror of that photo (which obviously isn't ALL horror, because Jared), it was a fabulous weekend! Jensen sang sexy songs about bonking, there were great panels with many shenanigans, there were fan-gatherings galore, I met some more new fangirls who are either going to Rome next week or Crossroads the week after, and Jared liked his painting. He actually thought I'd commissioned an artist to do it - which is flattering. Of course I don't know if he'll keep it, but hopefully he'll read the note I wrote to go with it.

I might even ask him about it at the weekend at autos - though I dunno. That is rather putting him on the spot.

Great photos (yes, even the last one... I thought it was cute :) )! Glad for the update because ya'll are going to be gone forever! lol. Chris's photos are really amazing... we only have the Creation events here, so I know of nothing else lol. I'm curious if everything was as expensive as it is here... they might've lowered the prices bc this was the first event for SPN over there.

Lowered prices - NOPE! If anything they raised them for fewer guests (though we had J2 for 2 days). People in Europe are used to Rogue and Purgatory pricing which is a LOT lower.

Yes... my Jensen photo op was almost $200 when I went to NJ in 2015, and I got copper tickets for me and Clarise, which were about $250 each. Oddly, Mark Sheppard photo only cost me $50.

I really loved your sketches for these photo ops (which I missed commenting on)--and the actual photos are sooo adorable!! I love the way you think about/stage photos--your artist's (and storyteller's) perspective comes out in those too. <3

And also.. oh no...my heart nearly leaped out of my chest in horror when I read the words 'madebyme_x' and 'nasty car accident'. Thank goodness she's okay, even if the car isn't.

I can't tell you how happy I was to hear her voice on the phone when she told me what happened - because I already knew she was ok(ish) as she was telling me about it herself! She didn't go to hospital and her brother came down from Cumbria and took her home - but her legs are massively bruised and swollen and of course she's discovering other aches and pains every day. She's staying at her mum's and being looked after though, which is good.

Oh, not going to the hospital for a checkup after the accident isn't good. You never know what kind of internal injuries you might have. I hope she's really okay.

I was telling her this yesterday - she could have fractures and still be able to walk... She tells me she is monitoring herself. I've also told her to tell her GP, and to ask about physio, because even if she hasn't any broken bones, all that muscle and soft tissue damage can take a lot of time to recover from.

I'm going to keep pestering her remotely! :D

Hee hee, you look great as Daphne and it must have been so great to manhandle Jared and get his kissy face aimed at you! (And you look great in the pic, not like a disapproving granny at all - more like the cat that got the cream!) I love the Leviosa one, those boys can certainly jump and are such good sports. It's so sad that madebyme_x didn't make it to the con, what an awful shame. She must be so disappointed as well as traumatised by the crash.

It's funny, that shaved look isn't noticeable in person, it shows up much more in photos. I'm just waiting now to see how much more beard they both have when they arrive in Rome on Saturday!
