My giraffe has arrived and is currently lying down in the newly covered alleyway between our house and next door. Sadly the new roof is about the same height as Giraffic Park himself, so he can't stand up under there as planned. Doh.

Fortunately, although his base is also quite long, he's not very fat. However, I don't know yet where he's going to go when we attempt to bring him inside. I've measured again and turns out the ceilings in the hall and living room are only 8ft 6", which gives me a mere 3" clearance if he is upright.

In the meantime, Hareport is finished! He's being collected sometime tomorrow, so in the morning I'm getting hubster to help me take him outside, where he will photographed in daylight, be fixed back onto his pallet and wrapped in bubble wrap ready for transport.
Here are some indoor photos.
Back view, sitting on his trolley. The lion is supposed to be like the ones in front of Norwich City Hall, and that's Norwich castle on its man-made mound, with the stripey market stalls at the bottom.

The ducks on the river are supposed to be the plastic duck variety, in honour of the Grand Norwich Duck Race. I am not painting any actual plastic ducks this year so this will have to do instead. LOL
That area was an absolute bugger to paint, even when he was up on his box - it was just so awkward to reach.

Hareport looks amazing - well done you!!! Wishing you all the best with that giraffe - but like you said long but thin so hopefully he'll fit in a corridor or something.

Honey he's gorgeous, I would kill to have him in my garden :D

Giraffe boy however is possibly gonna be an issue, lol! When exactly will you be getting the builders in to higher and widen your doors? ;)

the doors aren't necessarily the problem, it's the ceiling height... though I suppose a french door size entrance to the living room would help! LOL

Hare is looking fantastic, I can't wait to see him in situ - do you know where he's going to be displayed?
And poor old Giraffe - it's a shame you can't get him to bend down for you!

Yes, I could do with the giraffe having a bendy neck!
The hare's being sponsored by Castle Mall shopping centre, so I'm assuming he'll be in there when the trail starts, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. It's all top secret until late June when the trail opens!

This is so awesome! It must be such a challenge painting on all those curves. You pulled it off beautifully.

The curves were definitely a challenge! Got to admit, my painting is still pretty amateurish compared to most of the artists who work on these critters, but people don't seem to mind/notice once it's out on the trail so I'm trying not to be too bothered about it myself. LOL

You shouldn't be bothered. Your things are charming, and I'm sure everyone enjoys them.

Hareport! This is the first time I saw the name and connected it with the flying rabbits (which are a delight by the way). The ducks look great and the swan is a neat touch. I'm very fond of the bird on the back of the rabbit's head too. It really turned out well. Such cheerful colors.

Yikes with the giraffe. Is there a way to support it on saw horses and work on it lying down? That doesn't sound very easy either. Looking forward to seeing how it goes. It's so much fun to follow the progress of each of these.
