Sketch dump

Haven't done one of these art posts for a while.
Starting with more recent drawings, I've been trying to decide what, if anything to take to Germany for the Rockwood music festival at the end of next week.
Louden Swain are there (though I'd have to pay extra for a Rob auto if I want one). I thought I'd try something slightly different - not a full caricature but not a real portrait either. I'll take it with me and decide when I get there whether to get it signed or not.


I did a rough version of this first (below). I liked how Billy turned out in that one, but Rob looks like Marty Feldman! Not that the second one (above) is a lot better - I've decided I can't draw Rob, sadly.
This is the first, more sketchy attempt. Poor Rob! LOL


Today I tried some sketches of Briana. Not great likenesses, but as drawings they are kind of pleasing, somehow.

So yeah. That's the last couple of days. I'll do a sketchbook/life drawing post sometime else.

These are great. I especially like the one of Briana in the bottom left with the tongue sticking out, that's a perfect likeness.

I dunno! The Briana ones are in my rough sketchbook at the moment - though I suppose I could stick them into something else to get signed... But anyway, thanks for the vote of confidence!

Aw thanks - a new departure for me so I'll have to see about trying some more. I find I like the rough sketches better than the finished drawings though.

the louden swain one is so cute! rob definitely looks like himself in the finished piece, altho sketchy!rob does kind of look like marty feldman. so goofy, so pop-eyed.

Whoa, these are all fantastic! I think digital art (and digital colouring, etc.) is super cool, but I will always be particularly fond of good ol' pencil sketches. Such wonderful life in these lines. <3 The Louden Swain caricature-portraits are just perfect!

I don't know, you've gotten *something* about Brianna, as have you with Rob. His eyes in the first one really scream Rob to me, and Brianna's mouth and in the singing and tongue poking out one really shout her to me.

These are fantastic! I love the first sketch of Louden Swain, it has such good energy--but as you say...Rob. He's much better in the second.

And the Briana ones are great too--the thing I love? In the last one, with the mic? That little double chin you get when you really open your mouth to sing. Love that!
