My first of two spn_reversebang artings, and this was my first completed art submission too. I was lucky enough to get snaffled by morrezela, who then said she wanted to write one of my favourite tropes, amnesia fic. So double yay!

This was my original prompt

It's a total id-art, I just wanted ninja Jensen! I'm so shallow... LOL. Plus the background turned out in my fave colours...
So then morrezela wrote the story and I had to do this Jared pic - Jensen's view from his roof top perch. Nothing spoilery here.

I forgot to add this close up of Jensen (in case anyone's interested in the freckles, you know...

Process part:
This was my usual mishmash of traditional and digital, messing with photos and my own stuff.
So the prompt pic was made by using a photo of a roofscape I found via an image search.

I fiddled with PS filters using the edges tool, then overlaid it with a nice texture I've had saved for a while, called #099 by cloaks.
This was the ref I used for Jensen's pose and costume, which I then adapted to suit me.Couldn't have Jensen's pretty face covered now, could we!

Here's Jensen in progress - all drawn and coloured digitally in PS6. Oh yes, the griffin head is from the Crysler Building! I'll always remember that from Ghost Busters.

Jared is from a charcoal sketch I did, then refined a little bit. I photographed it then coloured it and added his body in PS

I cheated on the background. I used a window pic I found on an image search (again). I cut out the middle window and created Jared's interior. Here's the full pic.

Big cheat, huh? One day I won't leave things to the last minute and I will make my own backgrounds. Oh! Did you see that flying pig?

Really gorgeous!!! I love how you can instantly tell it's Jensen, even though you can' see his whole face. AND THAT ARM. <33 I love the textures of both the Jensen and Jared paintings, and those pretty, mysterious aqua gradients. Mmmm!

How's your writer getting on with your art? Are you doing anything else to go with your marvellous Rowena?

Last we talked, she was getting her rough draft less rough, so I told her no pressure, she can either send it when she's okay with more eyes on it, or keep it private, whichever made her more comfortable. I'd love to do some extras for her, though! In a week or so I'll go ahead and ask her if she has a title and such so I can work with that~

That's a very atmospheric and noir-ish feeling you've got going here -- I'm loving the lighting and those deep blue-greens. It's almost as if we're seeing the scenes through tinted glass or water. Beautiful job!!

Oh Amber, this is so very cool! Ninja Jensen is a great idea (muscled arm for the WIN) and then you made such a good prompt out of it including Jared's businesscard. I love the background of the city a lot (and how you changed the angle between the prompt and the final version is so clever) and I'm glad you talked about your process here. I love playing with the PS filters when sketching, but never quite know what to do with them for actual art, this is such a perfect use of the edges *strokes screen* plus the colours are my favorites too;)
I really like how you combined your (re)sources into your own creation; the pov of Jared is just right and I love what you did with the window above his head.
Last but not least thanks for including the griffin head and revealing where it's from, I knew it looked familiar:)

I haven't used PS filters that much, I think this was the first time I tried the edges one, and they seem to do quite different things to the filters in GIMP. It's scary how much time I can waste spend experimenting! Thanks for such a lovely comment, I'm glad you liked all the different bits.

Ninja!Jensen is the best thing ever. Even in the small image, it's so obviously him. I love his muscley arm and his freckles and his armpit hair!! I also love the muted colours--very noir. :D Really gorgeous art set.
