Rather than do it in the comments and have the formatting go all weird, where posting a pic is appropriate I thought I'd try replying in journal entries.
So here's tha answer to chomaisky's request for #3. Show us your oldest piece of art you have on hand.

The one on the top right was drawn a month after I turned three, so that seems to be my oldest extant masterpiece. I admit, I don't remember my Granddad ever smoking anything, let alone a pipe! I drew the other three interesting portraits when I was a couple of months off four years old. I'm not sure there was an improvement there!!! My Mum didn't get buttons or a weird bobble hat, but she did get high heels.

And de_nugis wanted to know 8. What is your favourite piece that you have done?
Which is actually hard to answer. When it comes to fanart, I tend to be most fond of  the last picture I did (though only if it went as planned, obviously!). But I am quite proud of this drawing of George Harrison I did when I was sixteen. I was a tad obsessed with him and had been trying and trying to draw him from different photos for months. This was actually the 30th portrait I'd tried and the most successful likeness.

Is it a bit sad that this was so long ago??? LOL!

My earliest drawings were lost during moving. The earliest ones were done when i was 13 or 14. But I don't have them here so can't share with you.

Awww your childhood drawings are adorable! When I used to draw my dad when I was little, I used to draw his bald head as another circle sitting top of his head - no seemed to question it though, poor Dad!!

I love your George Harrison (he's by far the most attractive of the lot, IMHO). And I think long-ago works sometimes get a certain polish that it's hard to see in more recent efforts, where we still remember exactly what we were trying for and can see all the bits that fell short of what we imagined. It takes a long time for a work to lose that in-progress roughness in one's mind, no matter how completed and published it is.

Also, I love your childhood drawings.

George was the most handsome (I reckon) but then I always went for the dark, slightly hairy ones. How I ended up with a tall, skinny, blue-eyed, fair-haired chap I've no idea!
