Two posts in a day! I thought some of you might be interested to see my Mum's garden. I probably should have done this vid in the morning when it was proper sunny all over, instead of this evening but never mind, hey. As you will gather from the background noise, there is a main road just over the field at the bottom of the garden, hence the constant traffic.

It's unedited and five minutes is probably too long but there you go!

What a lovely garden, and so big too! I love the tulips, especially the purple ones, and all the forget-me-nots too. It reminds me of my aunt's garden in Essex, she has an allotment area too and grows lots of fruit and veg, not bad for an 83 year old!

My mum's 81 this year. She keeps talking about giving up the gardening but I can't see that happening until she can't move - she loves it too much. It's all organic too. These people how garden - it makes my back ache just looking at it!

She'd get on like a house on fire with my aunt - I think all that gardening helps to keep them going! She does have a gardener once a week now and he cuts the grass and helps with the harder stuff, but she does most of it on her own and her runner beans are amazing!

Mum's next door neighbour mows for her, and last year she had help planting her potatoes because she broke her arm, but that's it. Everything else she does herself. I'm in awe. really.

Apparently it's longer than I thought, it's 80 yards! And Dad makes virtually no contribution other than occasionally holding something steady for her to tie it up or helping her put up that screen trellis thing.

80 yards, that's impressive, and for it to be all so well up together, extra impressive :) You've seen the state of ours ;)

What a gorgeous tumble of colour in a lovely a garden, you can tell how much love has been invested. I've been very short on forget me nots this year, it happens sometimes, but I'm hopeful for next. I spot quite a few familiar plants in there, but I'm useless with veg and such, rhubarb is about my only success story, so many congrats to your parents!

All your forget-me-nots must have migrated to my Mum's!! Her garden is covered with them!
