History Big Bang art post for A Trickster's Children

This one was a bit different - a Loki fic by . Well, not so much Loki as Loki's children, actually - so I got to draw the great wolves Fenrir and Váli, as well as the more human-like Nari and Hel.  All of Loki's six children feature - Jormungand the great serpent is in between the two wolves, and Slepnir, Óðinn's eight legged horse is in the background behind Nari and Hel.

Ta chuck! I drew the wolves (and the people in the Nari/Hel one) with normal pencil and paper, then I photographed them so I could play with them in GIMP (which is a free software program like Photoshop). So all the colours are added digitally.

Well it is free - and I found it much easier to get to grips with than Photoshop - their online help was easier to follow. Though I still have a LOT to learn!

I know nothing of the characters here but the art is beautiful. The raised medalion in the one with Nari and Hel is particularly eyecatching.

That Sleipnir medallion is actually a piece of jewelery I bought off an Estonian craftsman who sells on eBay - it's pretty awesome so I incorporated a photo I took of it into the pic!
