What is it with me and summaries about ghost Jensen? I don't know - but that's what I went for again, and once again I lucked out with an excellent story!

This was the first piece I did



I had two scenes in mind to illustrate but in the end only did the one (very mildly spoilery).
Jared's PA, Alex Calvert stocking Jared's fridge - when you read the story you can find out why Jensen's crawling around on the floor and Jared's looking a tad discombobulated...


Process ramblings:
The Jensen portrait was the first piece I did. It's very much an experiment with acrylic ink splashes, using just two colours, apart from watercolour for the eyes. I kind of liked the idea of the ink runs looking like shadows and hinting at something not quite right. No idea if that comes across or not, but I liked the effect.

It might have been a fun one to video the process but I'm not that organised. 😂
Here's the inked drawing of the kitchen scene before watercolouring.

These are my silly little chapter header/dividers featuring Jensen's little friend, Fred.

This was the scene I didn't do - I spent ages looking at different references, trying to use my Pose app etc and just couldn't settle on the pose I wanted for sleeping Jared. So in frustration, I left this one undone.

I LOVE the effect you have made on the cover! My first thought was lines of shadows and then I thought it looked like he was breaking into pieces, either way not only is he extremely beautiful but I also get the idea of something waiting to be revealed and I love it! 🙌🏼😄
Jared and Alex with the fridge is amazing. And I have no idea what Jensen is doing crawling around on the floor but I love that his top is slipping down, that just adds a lovely little touch that makes me smile 🤗🤗

And I love your sleeping Jared sketches. I think they are beautiful and I don’t know why your muse wasn’t feeling them, but to me they are lovely and I’m very glad you included them here!

Your art is absolutely exquisite. I am in utter awe of every piece, especially the little Fred headers! So fun and simple. They really add to the fic by keeping it fun and lighthearted. As I've already gushed before in our emails, I will forever be in love with that portrait of Jensen. I gasped the first time I saw it, and I'm happy to report the feeling has not at all faded. It's so beautiful. The coloring gives such an otherworldly vibe. I love that you captured the comical scene of the kitchen. It's fantastic! The added detail of Jensen's shirt riding up is just so good! I am so tickled you added the sketches of Jared sleeping! You mentioned having trouble with it, but I hadn't seen these! They're wonderful just is, so don't you dare be hard on yourself!

Gorgeous art! I was thrilled when 1bad_joke said she won you for an artist (I'm her beta) because there's nothing better than a match-up between the best authors and artists in fandom!

I am so happy you did spooder chapter dividers, I loved Fred, and your little spooders are so cute and dynamic, plus they add that slightly spooky element even before we've met Fred — spiders and ghosts just kind of go together, somehow.

Ghost!Jensen with the shadows is stunning, so pale but for the colour of his eyes and lips, with that oh-so-important graspable hair (hehehe) and the shadows definitely give him an otherwordly, mysterious air.

The kitchen scene is amazing, so detailed and vibrant and expressive, and mmm... Jensen crawling around... butt in the air and that exposed midriff! 🤤I assume he's looking for Fred!

It's a shame you couldn't finish the sleeping Jared one but I'm really glad you included the draft here because I love that top position, also very yummy! I can see why Jensen got distracted and just stood there looking at him like a creeper LOL.

i'm still so amused that you picked another ghost story. it's a theme! :D the pic of jensen is just gorgeous - the colors are so pretty and yet kind of stark and a little off, and i really like how it looks like shadows. the fridge pic just made me giggle, with jensen's butt in the air. and it's too bad you couldn't get any of the sleeping jareds to work, because the sketches are really nice. i mean, come on, jared butt, there is no bad there. (also spiders give me the creeping heebie-jeebies but fred is so cute!)

The sillliest thing about putting that summary at the top of my list was I'd completely forgotten I'd done your ghost Jensen last year. So it really must be a bullet-proof thing for me... LOL
