Summary: Canon divergent Supernatural where Dean still kills monsters. What's different are the humans he kills, the reason he does it, and how Sam begins to handle the clean up afterwards. Dean is judge, jury and executioner to seeming innocents and Sam finds a way to keep them safe and off the radar with a mixture of law knowledge, an extensive fascination with botany and a bit of learned magic. Their devotion grows deeper and more feral until it's all consuming and burns bright hot, defying anything in their path to happiness.

Usual process waffle:
The story theme centres around flowers and poisons, so I ended up doing loads of research on the different plants, thinking I'd do a medieval herbalist type series of pictures. Then I found an old manip art I'd done for a curtain-fic bang story that ended up not getting posted, of Sam and Dean gardening, and that then became my central idea.
I loved that this story skews both boys, and wanted the art to show that sense of danger/wrongness, and ambiguity.

The medieval herbal ended up one initial letter with some hemlock which I used for the banner - inked ready for watercolour

I love the mediaeval script of the M, and I imagine that's a poisonous herb? Lovely textures in the background!
