Drawtober - day 3 - Ophis, old & thurisaz

Failed to hit the mark with Drawesome's prompts but I managed three others so yay!
SPNtober's old is a bit of a scrabble but the legend of Thor going fishing and fighting Loki's child Jormundgandr is pretty ancient so I'm counting that. Nikolas_tower's Obscurtober's prompt was ophis, which is about snakes - hence the World Serpent, and thurisaz is Thor's rune, for Jonas Lau Markussen's Futharktober, both on Instagram.

I forgot to take in progress pics, but bascially I sketched in pencil in my Mossery sketchbook, inked with a 0.05mm fine liner, then watercoloured over the rest. Oh and I tried masking fluid for the lightning but it didn't work that well. I should probably have used white ink instead. So I added a bit of white digitally. My watercolours are all handmade ones by Kwartscreations, and they have some fab granulations.

Date: 2020-10-03 09:56 pm (UTC)The background has this dream like quality to it that reminds me of lonely dark stormy ocean dreams I used to have when I was a kid. Gosh, how terrifying would that be if you met a snake that big on the ocean? I don't want to know.

Date: 2020-10-04 10:25 pm (UTC)I've seen some pictures of those deep sea creatures, I'm not discounted a giant snake creature. We got giant squids in the water and 30ft anacondas on land. Why not huge ocean snakes? (maybe not as big as yours...hopefully) The Ocean is scary and it's like most of our planet. ๐ฑ
