I feel I should report back on Creation and JIB and my Jared painting, before all the details slip out of my leaky brain.

I decided to give him the painting at Creation UK because it was easier for me to transport it, though I still had qualms about it, as I have no idea how Creation handle gifts, and whether he'd be able to keep it afterwards even if he wanted to. Whereas I know that Daniela carefully packages up everything they are given in Rome and makes sure it all gets sent back to Vancouver. Anyhow, decision made, I queued for the autos by the stage in Birmingham, got the tiger pants signed (with a typical Jared quip about the size of Misha's junk when I said Misha was signing them next), and then I unrolled the painting and gabbled something fairly unintelligible while doing so.

Got to say, Jared's reaction was everything I could have hoped - he took some time to unroll it properly and did that kind of half shout thing he does, with a big this is awesome. I was trying to explain what it was about and then he asked if I had it commissioned, so I told him again that no, I'd painted it. Anyhow, I got a high five for that (well, a low five as he was sitting down), and yeah, I think he really did like it. I'd stapled a letter to the painting with some positive messages about AKF and heroes, but of course, I don't know if he'd get to read it.

So a week later, at JIB, I went to get his autograph again (on the burlesque photo op poster, which Jared remembered from last year, and laughed loudly when he saw it). He gave Jensen a nosebleed, which seems to be his trademark move, and then I asked him if he'd had a chance to read the letter with the painting - then he confused me asking had she got the email (no clue what he was talking about there) but then he went on about the painting being great, it was a perfect Boba Fett and a perfect Michelangelo turtle and that the young Jared did actually look like him when he was a kid. Then I got another handshake and a big smile, so although I'm still none the wiser as to whether he read the letter or kept the picture, I went away a very happy camper.

Oh and then Jensen laughed his head off at the burlesque poster and gave Jared silver lipstick. And at Creation Jensen was very careful signing the Tiger pants, even though there wasn't really any good place to sign, and when I said I hadn't thought it through, he looked me in they eye, smiled and said you got this. *happy sigh*

So those were really my con highlights this year. Those and my Chris Schmelke jump pic, and my close up view of Jared's pretty pouting lips when I tried my Velma dip pic which I've already posted here.

My photo ops from JIB weren't a great success. A bit of a catalogue of errors this year, starting with missing my  second Jensen single op because I was in a meet and greet. They said it was ok, I could do a single after my Jensen Misha double, but then I nearly missed both all together because I was waiting during Jared's panel for the last call, which never came. Luckily when I saw the announcement on screen that Misha's M&G was starting, I rushed out and bumped into Misha coming out of the photo op room. He asked if I had a photo with them, and when I said yes, bless him, Misha called Jensen back from down the corridor, so me (and a bunch of other people in the same boat) got our doubles and my odd single, but without any props or poses - so I was in a flap and a tizzy plus really disappointed. Again. Gah. That whole palaver - rushing around, getting told off for being late when it wasn't our fault, then not being allowed any poses for the J2 ops too - all kind of soured my weekend - which I know is really petty and stupid, but damn.

*Unhappy sigh*

Ok, enough over-priveleged grousing. I don't really know why I'm so disappointed, possibly because last year was SO perfect, it would have been hard for anything to have matched that.

I am so impressed how they have one glance at a reference pic and do the right pose without any further prompting. And yes, I know this is their job but still. It's awesome.

Jared before allergy meds - I told him "I've stolen your beanie, what're you going to do about it?" And this happened.

Oh, and I nearly forgot! This was also a lovely Jared moment for me. Because I got a huge smile when I walked up to him, an enthusiastic sure at the photo op idea, a hand clasp, then as I was walking away, he said something about it being a something-or-other (presumably branded) beanie too. So I turned back and said he could have it if he wanted, and then I got a big hug too! That never happens to me! An extra un-photo op hug!

I hope he wasn't too disappointed when he found out it wasn't a branded beanie at all, just a cheapo effort from Primark LOL! It did have one of the cloth Moose Musk badges that I designed and herminekurotowa made for me on it though, so that makes it special, right?

Then this one is Jared in the afternoon, post allergy meds. It was so weird. I was first in line for his afternoon photos, and so was by the door when Daniela brought Jared down the corridor. Now that was odd for starters. Usually Daniela is at Jensen's side, not Jared's, but this time she actually had her arm round his waist and was definitely steering him into the room. Then when I walked up to him with the foam ice lolly, he clearly had no idea what was going on. His hands were all over the place and I had to kind of guide him into holding it, and this is what happened when I told him to pretend to lick it.

Poor boy was away with the fairies! Though to be fair, if he'd been my hubby on allergy meds, he'd have been sound asleep in the corner, so I suppose Jared's dopey, spaced-out reaction at least meant he could still do things - kinda.

Just a bit of Jensen Unicorn silliness. He was extra, extra hot both weekends. Seriously, scorching.


I was allowed this pose for one of my J2 ops - and it is pretty perfectly what I drew! This was another one where they impressed me with the exactness of their facial expressions - yup, these boys are professionals.

An enhancement to my Jack and the rift idea thanks to my fangirl friends during our photo op rehearsal session! LOL. Alex is SUCH a cutie!

Me and the other Devil. Who is utterly charming even though he smokes and I told him off about it at the welcome party thingy. Oops.

This post has got much longer than I intended! I'll have to do another post another day with the fangirl photos and some of the nice shots I got in the panel room when I wasn't videoing. And I promise not to be such an ungrateful cow in future posts. LOL

Sorry to hear you got a bit of dumb stuff happening at the con (Being told off? Not on!) but these photos are pretty damn fun! ALL OF THEIR FACES \o/

Oh it often happens at JIB - but it's one of the reasons JIB works so well, really, so yeah, swings and roundabouts. Daniela gets people pulling stupid shit on her and her staff all the time, so she assumes that it's us and not her staff making a genuine error.

Wow, the J2 one is really hot (Jensen's looks so slender! And somehow the way he's leaning with Jared's arm around him is just gah!) Also the one with the ice lolly is the cutest thing ever :)

Every time I see Jensen in the flesh I'm surprised how trim he is. I think it's a combination of TV making people look broader, and that Dean always wears so many layers. But yeah, so slim and super hot.

He was so cute when he was all dazed and confused - now we know that's all it was. At the time we were just worried he was falling apart again. So much so that on the Sunday morning, even though we'd seen Daniela and she'd told us he was A-ok and it had just been a bad reaction to allergy meds, when Jason came on stage and told us the big man couldn't make it, we all believed him!

Jared - and yes. I'd seen him at the photo op and so my alarm bells were already ringing, then of course his solo panel turned into an ensemble act (Jensen actually left his autographs to be on stage with his boy) and Jared was clearly not very with it, so we were all really worried about him. It was a relief to find out on Sunday morning that it had been a bed reaction to allergy meds. And he was back to his usual lively self on Sunday.

I LOVE your pics - what a success (I especially like the dancing J2M!) And how cool Jared remembered the painting - I knew he'd love it!

It must have quite worrying seeing Jared struggle a bit, but what a relief to know that it was just allergy meds (and a huge part of me loves to hear that Jensen dropped everything so that e could be on stage on with Jared).

Oh hun, I'm sorry to hear you had a bit of a bummer over a few odd pieces of con time, but over all it sounds like mostly a success. Why exactly were they idiot enough to screw up timings and then tell you lot off? *grumps for you* But wow, the ops you posted are just too brilliant, the boys really do know how to take a quick look and nail a ref pic, don't they? *hugs* Thanks for sharing all the lovely moments with Jared and Jensen, and yay for extra hugs ♥

Oh there are always slippages in the schedule - not least because Jared had his allergy meds reaction on Saturday and that threw a few things out (and meant there were one or two bits and pieces that carried over to the Sunday too). I think it threw me because a) I always get far more wound up than I should and b) last year's JIB was pretty near perfect, so this year's was always going to had a hard time measuring up.

True, but it's still very cool that you get to go, and I'm not surprised after last years it was hard matching up to it, but I think you're always willing to make the best, which helps :)
