Progress on my Jared painting

amberdreamsI think... I think maybe it's nearly done. Thanks to some helpful advice from my art heroes 
marietwist and quickreaver, and even though most of what they told me is beyond my competence at the moment (or at least, beyond my abilities on this particular painting) I think it is now looking reasonable. I am starting to think I would not be too ashamed to hand this over to the man himself at whichever of the two conventions I decide to give it to him.
If anyone else knows anything about using acrylic paint and has any hints or tips to improve it, please let me know! Otherwise all that's left to do is a second coat on the gold background (which doesn't show up on the photo), and then touching up where I've gone over edges etc to tidy it all up.
I think adding words would be too much, so I'll just have to write them down for Jared and put them with the picture.
