Here we go! The first of three DWBB posts (two art and one fic). This one is for shipperslist's story The Past Never Ends.
Summary: Sam has gone missing so what’s Dean going to do? Follow his trail to the ghost town of Cold Oak, of course. But what he finds isn’t Sam but something else; something older, more dangerous, and infinitely more terrifying than the little brother he wanted to bring back home.
OR The Silent Hill movie AU nobody wanted but that I chose to write anyway.

And yes! The fic has Jody and Dean teamed up (at least for a while) which made me a happy bunny!
Process
I thought I'd be brave and try some traditional pictures, but I ended up combining traditional and digital. I would have finished the main picture traditionally but I lost it! So it was just as well I'd taken an in-progress photo.
Here's where I'd got to - in pencil and watercolour

Next - the pencil drawing underneath the town sign in the banner, with a watercolour wash

I did this one in my sketchbooking class. I photographed it, duplicated the layer and multiplied it, look a still from Silent Hill with the town sign and fiddled with various effects to make it look more spooky, then added the titles. Ta da!
Anyhow, if you've got to the end of this post, it must be time to go read the story, right? (Link live now).
