This did not turn out how I'd hoped. *sigh* But I had limited time with travelling back from Manchester today, so it will have to do. I soaked the hell out of the paper trying to get rid of the parts where the black lines were just too dark... I think I need to try some different techniques. Like, for instance, using a brush and washes without using a brush pen first.

Oooh! This is a BRILLIANT choice of subject matter for the prompt! Very cool. You definitely captured the transparency and lightness of the veil material.

I guess I'd have to see the other techniques you suggest for comparison, but I like this. I think it looks effective :)

That is gorgeous. This kind of statuary is so impressive.

It’s still lovely, even if you wanted a softer look. That idea with a wash then drawing sounds good.

I like this one, and how the feel of the veil over the face turned out! It's a clever take on the prompt!

I think only you will really know what 'didn't turn out how I hoped' does mean, because I think this is amazing! GORGEOUS!

I think this looks phenomenal!! So eerie. And I can feel the fabric clinging to the face. <3

Eerie, but beautiful.

This is like a statue, if that makes sense, the folds of the veil are so real! Beautiful :)

I understand the "project not going as I intended" thing. So frustrating. But for what it's worth, I think this is fabulous?? Reminds me of a marble statue, looks imposing and sacred and gentle and perturbing all in one. I really like the weight of the fabric and the shadows that accentuate the blank eyes.

I personally think it's stunning, but I'm not the one who created it, I find even if something is technically perfect the way I've gone about it and it looks good, still there are things about something I don't like, but for me this is stunning.

I love this, I think it turned out well even though it's not exactly what you envisaged.
It's very eerie and quite surreal. I like it!

This is so flowing and lovely. I've found that, as time goes on, my image of what I wanted to depict fades before my finish project, and I grow happier with my finished works. You definitely deserve to be proud of this one.
