JIB8 Photo Op report - nearly in full!

NB there are a couple here I already posted but I wanted these all together so just scroll on by any repeats...
I had too many photo ops this year. I’d gone a bit nuts buying them, because I knew it was my only chance to see our boys this year, and I was desperate to make the most of it. So I’d managed to snaffle one single with Brianna, two singles with Jensen, two with Jared, two J2s, the trio (J2 & Misha), a Jared and Misha double and apparently, two Jensen and Misha doubles. I was mystified by that last one for a while, until I remembered that for JIB7 I missed out on the Jensen Misha. So all I can think is that when I got my prophet pass and they offered me the chance to buy sold out photo ops, I had it in my head that I’d failed to get the Jensen Misha, so bought another. Yeah, yeah, I know – clearly I have more money than sense.
And clearly, if I get lucky and go to JIB9, I will do exactly the same again.
When Tim and Richard had to cancel, and we got a chance at a double photo with the British Men of Letters, so yup, we bought one of those at the desk at the con. Oh and I had a photo with Tom Ellis too, but at least that was at JIBLand so didn’t add to the JIB load!
This is where having the Prophet pass becomes such a boon and a blessing, because it allows me to queue-jump with impunity, thus reducing the stress of having so many places to be.
Edited highlights of the J-related ops:
I had two ideas for my singles with Jared, but I wasn’t really happy with one of them. Then when I spent two days in Pisa watching all the tourists posing with the Leaning Tower, I had another idea I liked better – no props required and hopefully fun to do. But for my first Jared op I thought I’d go for this pose, in the hopes that he’d be feeling fresher at the start of the con, and that Daniela would allow it!
I know I posted this first one the other daym but this is now with narrative, so bear with me. :D
In the event, I got reluctant permission from Laura to at least ask Jared if he was willing to give it a go. Initially I thought I was going to have to give up on the idea, because he looked at the sketch and was rubbing his chin and saying oh, I don’t know, these pants are a bit tight… But then he started swinging those long legs around, warming up (I think I was suddenly quite popular with the queue in the room because that was real entertainment!). Then once he’d done that a few times, we ended up with this pose:
And I have to say, it might not be quite like the original idea, and I have NO idea what he was doing with the fingers to the head thing, but I still got to grasp that lovely thigh for a second, and I don’t even care that this is a profile pic of me and you can see all my sagging chins! Oh and before you ask – I know it looks like I’m checking to see exactly how tight those jeans are, but I have no recollection of seeing anything at all, virtually from the moment we started all this palaver to leaving the room with Jared rubbing my back. It’s all just flashes of him smiling, leg swinging, me blabbering about him not kicking me in the head, and telling him I thought the pose would be ok because he usually wears baggier pants. Gah. I’m such a jelly in their presence it’s ridiculous. I’m nearly frigging fifty seven! Ha ha!
Then in the afternoon I went for my second single with him, feeling marginally less nervous because it seemed like a simpler pose. This is the result, and I think it’s my second fave of my ops this year.
I showed him this sketch
and he chuckled and was up for it immediately. Next thing I know, he’s leaning alright, and I’m holding him up for real! I can tell you, that boy is bloody heavy! We straightened up and the photographer said we had to do it again, and this time the galumphing giant not only leant but kind of slumped onto me so I think I was holding even more of his weight than the first time! Which is why I’m so red in the face. I seem to remember I was muttering bloody hell under my breath and laughing a lot at the same time, and when he straightened up this time he was clearly so pleased with himself so I told him he was a heavy bugger. At least I also got quick squeeze and another pat on the back. Everything goes so fast it’s a bit of a blur – takes much longer to write these experiences down than it does to live through them. Which is another reason why non-fans will never understand us.
My first single Jensen photo was on the Saturday morning, and my usual Jensen nerves had kicked in, rendering me an inarticulate mess. That was one reason having the picture references was a bit of a life-saver, as it meant I didn’t have to gabble nonsense that he wouldn’t understand to ask for this pose. However, my stupidly wibbly-wobbly state meant I didn’t really appreciate the feel of that gorgeous golden arm wrapped round me. At least I have photographic proof though, and his pixie ears are so cute from this angle. I do now feel sufficiently protected by my handsome knight with a foam sword.
The second Jensen single was in the afternoon, like Jared’s, and that went well, because he was pretty pleased with that inflatable grenade launcher (I think that shows in his expression!). I also managed to tell him I’d had the idea before seeing the finale, though, as usual I still failed at making eye contact. Damn him. He’s just too fucking beautiful. Anyway, here’s Dean (or probably Jensen, to be honest) with the grenade launcher.
The trio was also on the Saturday afternoon. Jared was mucking about with the damn ribbon and wouldn’t grab the end that was out of view, I think because he was faffing with his jacket? I’ve no idea, but his messing about got me a reprimand from Daniela for holding up the queue, which meant I think I might have poked Jared and told him off. I have a feeling I did that… oops. The boy was SO jet-lagged and tipsy on apple juice, as well as wired on Red Bull and a five-hour energiser that Krista gave him, he was away with the fairies most of the weekend LOL. So anyhow, the other two were sorted and once Jared was in position, I got this:
Which I’m pretty happy with, I have to say. As Misha handed me back the flower crown and the wand, he thanked me for the opportunity. I think there might have been a note of sarcasm in his voice? Hee!
So what else. Let’s see. All the double ops happen on the Sunday, and I’ll start with the most boring (visually speaking) first. The Jensen Misha op I’d forgotten I’d bought meant I had no clue what to do with them, and under JIB’s new rules, if you don’t have a reference for a prepepared pose, then you get a hug. So, yeah, that was a hardship, especially as apparently I was looking in the wrong direction on the first one, and had to go back for a retake. And (apart from two Misha Jensen squeezes which are not to be sniffed at) the only reason I’m mentioning this one and posting the photo as a memorial is because I finally managed to look Jensen in the eye – twice actually. Once walking back (straight into Jensen’s arms to claim my second hug) and once saying thanks when we disengaged. I think I might have totally ignored Misha though. Mmm.
So – traditional hug pic here
And looking at this pic after I posted I've just realised they are clinging to each other, making this perfect fodder for the Destiel/Cockles fans to cut me out and move them closer... Ha ha ha!
Before the basic hug though, I tried to get a recreation of that restraining Demon Dean scene, with added me. I ended up with something more like a Jensen dub-con hug, but it’s still pretty funny and I did get to wrap my arms wound that firm bod, so no complaints here!
My Jared Misha was supposed to be a romance cover parody, and I reckon it turned out ok – they’ve both got great expressions and I was happy to give Misha’s thigh a good squeeze too. The photographer was gesticulating, saying he couldn’t see me but I told him I was fine with that. I mean, nobody wants to see me when Jared’s smirking so prettily, right? LOL!
Ok, so that leaves the two doubles with J2. I was actually not quite so fluttery with nerves about the J2 encounters, because I was more anxious that Daniela might not approve the pose. So I think that helped a little, which is probably just as well, as I decided I’d do the burlesque pose first. Oh boy. That one succeeded beyond my expectations, so I’ll talk about the other pose and leave the best to last. Though as I tweeted the photo you might have seen it already anyway.
So one of the ideas I had was to recreate the prank spoon scene from way back when. What I got wasn’t exactly what I’d drawn but probably better. I’ll let you judge. This is the sketch…
And this is what they did for me.
I think I might have shoved that spoon into Jared’s clenched teeth because I thought he was going to open his mouth when he didn’t but unlike his high kicking on the Aussie stage, there was no blood so I figured it was ok. And Jensen’s face is awesome. I did have a last minute panic when I realised I’d gone into the photo op room minus my phone and had to borrow Daniela’s, which had me extra flustered, so I’m surprised I’m smiling and not grimacing. Ha ha! As per usual, I end up grabbing stuff and virtually running out of the room because I’m so aware people are waiting and the line is long. I wish I could stop that feeling of utter panic…one day, maybe.
So yeah, winding the time back – the burlesque pose came first. The picture was approved by Daniela, and shown to the boys, who seemed amused, which was a relief.
Jensen’s face when he saw the feather boa was a picture of grumpy Jensen-ness, rolling his eyes and giving me that ‘really’ quirk of his eyebrow and when I presented Jared with the red sequinned patties. I made a point of telling him he should think himself lucky he wasn’t being asked to wear those… LOL.
However, I had no time to appreciate Jensen’s face because Jared promptly pulled his shirt wide open and literally thrust those magnificent pecs in my face, saying “stick ‘em on, girl!”
I mean. Jesus H Christ. He had nipples and everything. Right in my face. God. I’m lucky I didn’t die on the spot.
Anyhow. I managed to rip off the plastic covering on the sticky bits and pressed the nipple tassels onto that firm, oh so firm, chest. Then to compound it, I had to throw the bloody feather boa over Jensen’s head, because I realised he was just standing there, probably admiring Jared’s chest like I was. The funny thing was, the moment Jensen had the boa round his neck he started the performance. It was like he needed a costume/prop to get into character. And holy crap, just look at that model/tarty pose he gave me. It was nigh on perfect and I could not be happier. I even like me in the photo, and that hardly ever happens! In fact, I’m quite comfortable with me in all my ops which is bordering on extraordinary these days.
Then there was the icing on the cake when I collected the photo and found out what Jared had been up to! Just as well I didn't know he was exposing his Saxx to me while it was happening...Bwhahahah!
I think this one is my piece de resistance of photo ops now.
– and no, I never sniffed either of them so still have no clue what they smell like!

The grenade launcher was a fantastic idea, Jensen's pose is spot on and he manages to look badass and sexy even with an inflatable one! I love the leaning tower of Jared, too! I'm impressed that you managed to hold him up!
