Summary: Jared doesn’t want much from life. A spaceship with a good crew and the vastness of the universe just an engine push away. He has no interest in politics. But when he and his crew go on the hunt for a rare artefact, he’s violently ripped out of his life and plunged straight into a bloody conflict.
One hundred and forty years in the future, the world is going up in flames and resistance captain Jensen Ackles’ only goal in life is the destruction of the totalitarian Empire. But the resistance is struggling and Jensen knows time is running out.
When Jared and Jensen meet, they’re united by their desire to go back in time, albeit for different reasons.

My second spn_reversebang art posting and this story has turned into an epic Space Opera! So much so that ashtraythief is having to post the story in two parts. Part one is done HERE, Part two will be coming shortly.

Without more ado, here is the art:
This is the original prompt.

It shows Jared and Felicia in the first two panels, and Jensen in a space suit in the final one. I left it entirely up to ashtray to decide what was happening, and we had some fun brainstorming her ideas!
The extra pieces I've done don't give anything away - no spoilers here. :D

A divider

Jared in a spacesuit, Jensen in his - just because I thought a spilt screen thing would be cool. It does have relevance to the story too, as you will see when you read it.

I did all the pictures in Photoshop, using a mix of photos for backgrounds and drawing/painting. I should probably have redone the first panel, because that one was done in a bit of a rush, but I forgot how sketchy it was until now, so it's a bit late to do anything about it. Ha ha!

Background: Confession time...I found an old comic annual from the 1970s, and one of the stories was about two feisty sisters on Mars who found a time flake that whisks them off to the past when they touch it. Sound familiar? Yup, that's where the idea came from. I'm very keen on recycling! LOL

Awesome! So much love for space art and these are great. I like how Jensen's helmet glass turned out. Very cool. I'm intrigued by the snowflake and really like the divider. The black and white really suits this well. I'm looking forward to the story.

Heh heh the story is a beast, but it doesn't feel that long once you start reading it. The pace picks up and it rattles along nicely! I'm looking forward to Part 2!

LOVE how you did the radar spiral thingy in the banner; it makes the whole image so very dynamic and it feels like the space ship is actually moving towards us!

Oh yes, I remember the booty in that original prompt *grins* Such a great set up with the panels; I can definitely see a comic book in the making there! Gosh, Jensen's face with the dark shadow is so well captured. And then Jared got a very fancy space suit, how awesome! (and so cool with the reflection of space in it <3)

Ahhhh, all the pretty in one place!
I gotta admit, the butts drew me in. I mean, they're good butts. Even in the spacesuit! But honestly, archaeologists in space! I loved the Felicia/Jared friendship in the prompt and the moving feeling in the second, like i could almost feel the pull of the flake and then of course Jensen's face which is just omg. So intense and with the shading an it's just awesome. Generally I love the black and white optic.

And then you turned out to be an awesome collaborator too, so really, total jackpot! (Seriously, after three great rbb artists, I think I need to quit this chalenge while I'm ahead.....)

But seriously, thank you for this prompt and your input and your patience and your everything. I will continue to work on this story and cross my fingers that it'll inspire you to draw more :)

I love the comic strip style! And I love that your art seem to be different each time. Black and white fit very well with the tone of the story (and it is a very interesting and intrigue story I can't wait for the second part!) Actually I can see a comic about this story even! That would be so cool!! Also, please excuse my shallowness, but Jared's butt in the first art is very firm oh my goodness <3 <3 <3

These are gorgeous. I really like the ones of Jensen. The look is intense and very much a serious Jensen face. Beautiful shading and beautiful bone structure as well which is often hard to create. Love these.
