--When you are sad or depressed, what do you do to cheer yourself up?

And here are my answers for sillie82

• I cheer myself up by... actually, I don't know really. I'm very good at ignoring problems and distracting myself with LJ, writing, reading, watching SPN, drawing... I don't often feel sad for long. I'm more likely to get angry than sad.


• Once I get into my reading or drawing I don't hear anything around me anyway, but I prefer quiet to get started when I read, and music when I draw.


• Superstitious - nope. The only reason I don't walk under a ladder is if there's someone up it who's liable to drop stuff on my head. My cousin, on the other hand, introduced me to a load of new superstitions I'd never even heard of. She won't allow me to walk on the other side of a lamp post to her because apparently it causes a separation in real life. Uh huh.


• Road tripping in the UK - I'd have to bring Sam to geek out over all the history and folk lore, and Dean to do the driving (and complain non stop about roundabouts), wouldn't I? And for a third companion to balance them out and give me someone to cuddle in the back seat, Winnie the Pooh.


• I'm veggie who likes bland, sweet and salty, and doesn't drink tea or coffee.


• Milk (Galaxy is the best!) and dark chocolate occasionally - white is too sickly sweet for me now.


• I'm not in a Hogwarts house but I'm married to a house elf.


• This weekend I have to come up with some design ideas for painting a knight sculpture, as I just found out yesterday the deadline for submitting designs is 14th October!  In between that and other things, I aim to carry on hoovering the thick layers of dust out of our spare bedroom in preparation for its transformation into an art room for me. If you don't hear from me again you'll know I've sneezed myself to death.

A knight sculpture? Cool! Do you do a lot of sculpting? I always admire people who are good with their hands, because I am all kinds of not.

Oh I'd love to be that handy myself - no, this is an existing template sculpture that they run a kind of competition to paint/decorate. I did a pig one here in my local town, and discovered that there's a whole 'industry' of these things going on. The next one is for knights, in Lincoln, but there are a few more I want to enter too.

A large part of my work is me going through files and spreadsheets for hours at a time, trying to find patterns or solve problems. I always listen to Spotify, most often the playlist "Electronic Concentration." It locks me away in my own private bubble without the chatter of my co-workers.

When I'm home, I usually listen to Ambient-Mixer.com
There are Supernatural themed mixers, as well as other fandom mixers. I can really recommend that site!
