It was nice to have something fun to art for - so cheers to
kcscribbler for the adorable de-aging fic written for
zelda_addict in the
spn_bigpretzel Spring Fic Exchange! (And for the reminder that we were posting today!)
Story link coming very soon.
The art is slightly spoilery for an incident in the fic, so be warned. I should probably warn for flashing images and arachnophobes beware too...
Here's the gif

I took artistic liberties with huntsman spiders; I know they don't have webs but let's just imagine it's crawling down the bookshelf, hey? :D
Here's a couple of stills to show baby Cas without his flashing.
Here we see Cas starting to heat up his grace ready to smite.

Poor spider goes poof...!

I used a free trial version of Affinity for Mac for part of this, and then finished it off in PS, so there was a bit of experimenting going on and this probably shows! LOL

Date: 2016-06-29 04:14 pm (UTC)PS: As an Australian who sees an inordinate amount of Hunstman spiders and who has had many, many horrid encounters with them (they're absolutely everywhere here), they do produce silk for egg sacs. They may not sit in webs like some spiders but one of the ugly bastards actually lowered itself using silk to drop into my hair when I was leaving the house so it can happen! Usually they just drop onto you from a ceiling or wall and cling on for dear life. I have been known to abandon my still running car on the side of the road after having one run across my dashboard. I even spent the night at a friend's once because there was one in my bedroom when I got home and I had to wait til the next day for someone to go remove it. Usually it was mum that came to the rescue, but when I moved three and a half hours away to another city that was kind of out of the question. Did I mention how much I hate them? ;)
I'm off to bed now and I'm blaming you if I have spidermares!
