Spn_gen Big Bang - art post #1, for Reapertownusa

My first of two art posts for spn_gen_bigbang.   This one is for reapertownusa 's fic The Ones who have Gone Over.

First some icons

I did two largish  illustrations, one of Dean nailed to the cross, and a detail of his feet (as it turns out both me and reapertownusa have a thing about hands and feet!). Clicking on the images should take you to ginormous versions!





and here's a composite pic of the bloody feathers and bloody feet.

Sources/resources/other credits:
- Texture on the both coloured versions of the main pics is pareeerica's silence of the lambs (on flickr).
- I used a photo I took of some sunset clouds over our street as the background on the crucifixion picture. 
- The bloody figure in the banner is from a stock photo by mehmeturgut on deviantart. 
- The feather I found via a Google image search, it's actually an xray.
- The font on the banner is by jellyka and its called Le Grand Saut (downloaded for free here)
- the drawings were just done with an HB propeller pencil on a sketch pad almost as old as me
- I nearly forgot to mention - the source pics for the crucifixion and the feet were stills from Mel Gibson's Temptation of Christ film.

Oh, goodness gracious - you've already had to listen to me gush endlessly, but seriously, my love for this art is endless. You were freakishly psychic coming up with exactly what I wanted to see and executing it so gorgeously.

And, yes, I cannot get enough of those feet, which I was admittedly a bit obsessed with in this fic ;) So disturbingly beautiful. So perfect. Thank you so much!

I LOVE the style of these. For some reason they remind me of Russian Madonna's the gold illuminated look of them.

Yes, exactly. The painted Russian icons with the gold leaf backgrounds. THere is something very old school almost stained glass about these. Really great style!

What little I can see looks lovely, like the detail and shading on the feathers. Hiwever, most of the images are for broken links. :( also the PDF download crashes so can't view the art that way either.

Update - I have hopefully fixed the PDF link, do let me know if it doesn't work! And the post now links to LJ scrapbook instead of Photobucket so that should mean everything stays visible!
