Caged Heat - Cripes! (Ware spoilers folks)

Oh Crikey!  And further…..

Show, show, where are you taking us I wonder?  

 
I'm not complaining, I am just concerned that there are very few options remaining for our boys, and I don't like any of the ideas that I am coming up with!  So I am hoping Sera & co have better imaginations than me and have a way out of this that won't end up where I fear we are going....

 

1.      Sam walks away and refuses to let anyone make any further efforts to get his soul back.  Somehow, the brothers work together and create a new relationship without it.  Or they don't - but in which case there would definitely be no Season 7 so....

2.     Dean spends part of the rest of the season trying to get Sam’s soul back on his own (or with Cas and Bobby helping).  Then the remainder dealing with the (probably) drastic consequences for Sam if he succeeds.  Somehow they manage to heal his soul (even though Cas says he can’t do it – so maybe they bring in the big guns again and God shows up…).  Or they don't and we (and Dean) are left to cope with Damaged!Sam....

3.     They get Sam back on the Soulquest team, but when he gets his soul back the only way to heal him is for him to die so his soul can go to heaven (which it surely would, given the nature of his sacrifice).

I'm sure there are loads of other permutations but those were the ones that sprang to mind for me.

It was no surprise that Crowley was lying about having access to Sam’s soul, not once they finally confirmed that the soul is still trapped in the Cage with Lucifer and Michael.  Although Granddad Campbell said Crowley was responsible for returning both himself and Sam to life, I still don’t think a demon (even upgraded to King of Hell, whatever that means) would have been powerful enough to do that kind of resurrection.  And if Crowley did return the two of them, why leave Sam’s soul behind?  It doesn’t make sense.  He didn’t need it as leverage because he had Grandpa C on the hook already with his offer to bring Mary back, and it doesn’t appear that Sam started missing it until he hooked back up with Dean.

Unless it was Crowley, and Sam's soul got left behind precisely because he didn't have enough juice - but then I'm still struggling as to why he'd want Sam for anything...

 

And if it was Crowley, what have they gone and done by burning him up!!??  What a waste of a lovely snarky villain!!  Cripes.

 

Bugger.  A first watch has clearly left me with more questions than answers….

God I love this show.

Just tried 3 x to get into the entry and edit it under a cut but all LJ will let me do is enter something in the header (the rest of the post is totally blank and I can't get the cursor in the main box at all).
