Challenge word: weight

 

No spoilers, no harm, no foul.

Sam goes looking for Dean in a bar – only to discover that trouble has already found his errant brother.

When Sam swung the bar door open, the crash and loud yelling was all the warning he needed. 

A hustle gone awry, again.

 

Sure enough, as he towered over the heads of the gaping crowd, he was just in time to see the fist of the huge guy built like a heavyweight boxer connect with his brother’s chin.

Sam winced; but Dean bounced back like a rubber ball, taking the giant out at the knees - felled like a tree with Dean on top, grinning like a maniac, blood streaking his face.

 

Sam sighed.  Dean hadn’t looked this happy for months.

The title is from Simon & Garfunkel’s The Boxer – as so many things do these days, it reminded me of Dean…!

 

In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of every glove that laid him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the fighter still remains
