This is a long article and takes some time to read and absorb, but it's really thought provoking. Where the conclusions drawn here about ISIS lie, in the light of ISIS claiming responsibiliity for the Paris attrocities, I'm not sure, but if 90% of this is correct, it actually gives me a little hope. Thank you for sharing. A really interesting (and frankly very frightening) article. I mean, yikes...all they want is to bring on the end of days; and they're taking a pretty direct approach too.

(ISIS is) like the realization of a dystopian alternate reality in which David Koresh or Jim Jones survived to wield absolute power over not just a few hundred people, but some 8 million.

^^ This explains things quite well. The vast majority of their victims have been other Muslims, because those Muslims are too modern in their interpretation of the Koran. I guess that's why they're all fleeing in terror and asking the West for asylum.

What a mess. I guess we all need to stand in solidarity against ISIS--and that means linking arms with the Muslims that ISIS are persecuting too. Unfortunately so many Westerners are too scared to do that.

I wish I had solutions. All I have is sadness and grief.

Frightening in one way but hopeful in another - because if ISIS really are so constrained by their beliefs, then fighting them becomes much easier. Though it doesn't solve the problem of Al Qaeda and the insidious way they work to undermine western ways of life.

I am worried that ISIS have claimed responsibility for Paris though, as that doesn't fit with the supposed non expansion/disinterest in the west thing. Though I suppose they could be trying to provoke 'Rome' into putting an army in the Middle East.

Whatever is going on, none of it bodes well.
