milly_gal wanted to know....what I wanted to do in life

So I thought about travel first, and for fun, here is a map of the countries I've already visited

Amber’s Travel Map

Amber has been to: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Latvia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican. Get your own travel map from Matador Network.

It looks more impressive than it really is because it blocks out the whole country even though when we went to Australia we only saw Sydney. Admittedly, it was Olympic Sydney and bloody fantastic.

Wow... you've been to a heck of a lot of places. My map looked comparatively small... but then I can at least boast having touched down in 14 US States (even though some of them were just layovers, but eh, I got the postcard) which is something most US residents never manage *g* And it also doesn't really represent that we went camping every year and I've been to Spain and France a combined, oh, I don't know, dozen times or so. *g* But it's really fascinating to visualize that about yourself.

it looks impressive because it blocks out the whole country - but I've 'done' a lot of France due to camping holidays with my parents most summers, whereas Spain is Barcelona a couple of times, Gerona, Seville and Granada once, and a day trip to San Sebastian! And Thailand was a 2 day stop over in Bangkok so...

Heh, I always have a debate with my brothers about when we are allowed to cross a country of our travellist; I say spending at least a day is enough, no matter how small a part of the country you covered. It's the experience that counts:)
Last time I checked I had visited 38 countries, there is a lot of overlap with yours but I see you have been to some destinations I haven't managed yet: Jordan & Japan sound fascinating!

Yep, I didn't count countries we'd just passed through on the way to somewhere else.. Japan was amazing - we definitely want to go back one day. It was so photogenic! And I loved Jordan, the people were all so welcoming and hospitable. Petra was fantastic, I wouldn't mind visiting there again either!
