I was going to do something a bit more fancy and add the angel tablet somehow, but thought this ended up looking better nice and simple.
The palette de_nugis chose was number 16

I initially thought this would be very pale and not very Kevin but actually it was perfect on a black background.
And here is Kevin the Prophet, advanced placement.

I used this photo of Kevin as my reference, and painted it in PaintTool Sai because that allows that lovely soft blending.

Edited to say - any concrit gratefully received!

Beautiful and heart wrenching with that tear track. There's definitely some solid skin tones to work with in that palette.

There were indeed, and that pale blue turns out even paler than it looked on the sample so that made the tear!

I'm trying new things here, and have no real idea what I'm doing, so I just stopped before I messed it up too much LOL! Ta very much.

That is awesome, thank you! So sad, but the darkness and the way he's kind of blurring into it really work, and you did an amazing job with the tear, and the film of water in his other eye.

I'm glad you think it works, this is all experimental stuff for me!

I don't know how you artists do it. I'm looking at those colors, and I'm looking at that gorgeous pic, and I'm thinking there must be some sort of magic spell in between there somehow. So nice.

*pets Kevin*

Sai has a water brush which is nice for laying down less intense colour, and a blur brush which seems basically to be like adding real water. It's much better than the equivalent in Photoshop, which barely seems to do anything that I can see. I haven't used Sai much but think I'd like to try more 'painting' using it. Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing though so any concrit is gratefully received!

I'm also exploring blending with this meme. Haven't got the hang of it. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I'm also perplexed by a palette now. This meme really pushes me...

I'm treating the blending in Sai like I would if I was using watercolours on paper (with the massive bonus of an undo!!!). In Photoshop though, it really doesn't work like that so I've given up for now. At the moment I'm using GIMP for some things, PS for others and Sai for colouring!
