Woo hoo! My first spnj2 art masterpost has arrived! This was my pinch hit for the lovely rockstarpeach. It's a J2 romance with hooker Jensen and adorably dorky Jared, and who could resist that premise? Not me...
So you can read the story here or on the teaser, and see the art in situ. There are no spoilers for the story in this set, unless you count a bedroom scene which you know is inevitable, right?

The whole black and white thing was actually an accident. As you may know, I am a sucker for colour, but I was playing with the alleyway background photo reference for the main pic, and one of the fiddles resulted in what looked to me quite a stunning noire backdrop for my idea of Jensen's silhouette. Thus I ended up running with the whole set in monochrome for a change. The story itself has some dark moments but is generally much lighter in mood than you might expect from the art, so don't be put off!

And for the eagle-eyed amongst you - yes, that is a real TV Guide cover from 1998 with Jensen in DOLs. I found is doing a google search for 1990s TV guides - there's a guy on Flickr who has a virtual catalogue of covers!
Sources for other things - a google image search for male prostitutes gave me the jeans stuffed with money (which was so good I had to use it)

And the photo ref I used for the boys in bed (no ref for their faces hence the usual problem with prettification etc! LOL)

Not an art expert by any means but I think the black and white was a good choice. The silhouette in the alley is striking. And the bills hanging out of the pants is a good bit too. The boys in bed goes without saying. And where did you spot a TV Guide from that time?

The alley pic was my first idea, there's a nice description in the fic that set this off. The TV guide - I actually found a Flickr site by a guy who collects pics of them and happened to find this Jensen one doing a quick trawl through the 1990s!

The jeans pic was found on a google search for male prostitute! I just added Jensen's torso and made it black n white. :D

What a great idea for the banner -- Jensen up against the wall like that in a lonely looking alley. Very evocative. Good job with all of it, and that last picture of the boys makes me very particularly intrigued about the story.

I am so happy to see this art! I remember the summary from the claiming, and thinking that I would like to read that story. I was "this close" to try to claim it - but I knew that I wouldn't do it justice...so I didn't. So happy to see that it got the right artist for it, and that I din't ruin that by possible snatch it before you. Also happy when I see that you were a pinch-hit. Pinch-hit artist doesn't have much time, and I am glad that you could pull this off!
