JIBCON - My photo ops - more

Yes I have more....ha ha ha, hope you don't unfriend me for the spam!
I've been dying to try a hig five with Jared for ages, and finally plucked up the courage to try it.So just to let you know - I'm 5'1 and a bit. I was on tip toes and as you can see, Jared hasn't got his arm straight! I actually ended up holding onto his wrist so I didn't topple over! This was, of course on the Saturday, before he was Osric'd.

And this is my trio - I told them to be hopeless men reading my map of Rome and I think they showed their acting credentials quite well in this one, don't you? Ha ha ha!

And this is the last one - no more photo op picspamming after this, I promise!
My Jensen op. I couldn't think of anything to do until the very last minute then I had the idea of saking him to pretend he really wanted to hug me while I pretended I really wanted him to bugger off. You can see how convincing an actor I am.... not!!!

He did seem quite amused by it when he signed it for me later. I was certainly amused by THAT face! And his little pixie ears, of course.
On that note, i.e. happy things - two little things about JIB this year that kind of blew me away (apart from the whole event of course).
First - Photo ops - not only did we manage to get poses and fun stuff done, there was none of the regimental feel to previous years and thought things were speedy, I never felt harrassed. AND the photos were printed and out for pick up with half an hour! Frigging amazing! AND (Rogue Events, are you listening and learning?) there was absolutely NO fuss over the pick up. Any photo without the person in it (like my one of Misha handing Jared the flower) were kept separately and the staff just looked through the pile when you asked.
Second - the stage lighting was fab. The best I've ever seen at a convention. It must have been a tad warm under those spots for the actors but they didn't seem to mind and even though I spend most of the time over halfway back down the big hall, I still managed to get some halfway decent photos. And then the extra lighting effects they put on for special bits was really great, giving us a rock concert atmosphere that just enhanced the whole experience. Kudos to JIB for that!

I just had a quick shufty on Tumblr and found nearly all my ops on there! Though some had sourced them to SSA. I'm not too bothered. it is a risk we take putting anything online these days, and Tumblr is notoriously bad for failing to source pics.

You always get the cutest photo's. I think I've told you before that the photo ops I've been to at the Creation conventions are extremely regimented. No fun stuff allowed. Jump into the frame, smile, and get the hell out. That's the feel I always get. It's a shame. But yours are great!!! Congratz!

I have seen a lot of creative photos taken by Chris - do you think these are just a favoured few or something then? And everyone else gets rushed? Certainly Rogue and JIB are very speedy - you do have to have something clear and simple or you'll get told off for holing up the queue and that can be a bit stressful! But my view is I've paid a LOT of money for that 20 seconds so I want to get some value out of it - also I think it breaks up the hugging monotony for the actors (though I know they are perfectly happy giving out hugs!).

I've only been to VanCon so far, but the times I've been there, I've felt very rushed during the photo ops and anything that takes any time at all is discouraged. Also, when I've walked around and looked at the photo's sitting out on the tables waiting to be picked up, I haven't seen anything as creative as yours. :) Perhaps other conventions are different, I don't know. I'm going to the NJ con this year and I'm really excited to see what it's like, although it's still a Creation convention.

I've seen quite a few interesting poses that are from Creation cons...mm wonder whether you are right and it's a Vancon thing. Is Vancon bigger? Anyhow you will have to be brave at NJ and see if you can get something else in your ops if you want! Both Jensen and Jared we doing crazy big hugs the last 2 weekends (though obviously that was before jared dislocated his shoulder - I'm glad I got my single photo with him on the Saturday!). I was surprised how touchy feely Jensen was, he's usually much more reserved.
