Behold the Tooth of Unhappiness.

The entire filling that took nearly an hour to do about 2 weeks ago. Who will join me in a chorus of BALLS!

I'll take that hug, ta very much. Feeling happy again now. Well, until my tongue seeks out the bloody great hole where my tooth isn't. LOL

That is not fair. You were supposed to be enjoying 100 days of happiness. You should sue the fates.

Guess it's all about taking the rough with the smooth, eh? Ha ha ha!

I don't really understand why we don't shed our teeth every seven years and grow new ones. It would be a bit of a nuisance, but it would still make more sense than being expected to get one set to last from childhood till death.

Another big design flaw that if there were a God I would be bollocking Him about - along with spines not designed for upright postures but that don't like sitting down, stupid digestive systems that don't work properly - oh and cancer.

And knees. Another thing that didn't really approve of this biped business. I once threw out my knee hastening greedily towards a cheese shop, and it's never been quite the same since. I ask you, should a harmless desire for cheese be so disastrous to a well-designed frame?

Date: 2014-03-13 09:44 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] amberdreams.livejournal.com
Exactly. Cheese is very important to our well-being, it's pursuit should be encouraged.

Indeed. Bang go my plans for lunch with my old friend tomorrow - emergency dentist instead.

Yikes. So, SO sorry! (I hope it was painless, at least?)

No pain really, just that gaping feeling where I know there is no tooth any more and a big deep hole exposing the nerve - I'm not looking forward to cleaning my teeth tonight!

On your behalf and as Bobby would say .....BALLS!
Teeth are nothing but trouble, cause babies pain when they emerge, kids pain when they fall out, adults pain when they go bad. Definately a bad design - I'd also add wasps to the list.

Bobby's balls often come to mind in these situations - and that sounds all levels of wrong....

Thanks babe, it wasn't too painful once it was out, but I'm not looking forward to the repairs. Bummer.

I´m a dental technician ;) That piece of tooth looked really big :( Don´t you want a crown? And if that happened only 2 weeks ago you have to get a refund... :( Again, sorry to hear that :(

Are you? Cool. It is a massive chunk - and I think crowning will be their solution this time, She did mention it as a possibility but obviously thought the filling would last a bit longer than this! LOL

Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. That right there is why I sprung to get my teeth bonded, then got pretty, shiny, veneers. I highly recommend both.

I had to look up bonding - interesting! I don't think we get that on the National Health though, LOL

Yeah, probably not. I did it after one too many crowns. Ouchie. Worth the money though.

That's scary! I feel lucky not to have had muuch trouble with my teeth. Several friends of mine had all kinds of wires glued to their teeth( what's the technical word, braces?) And one still wears them now. Hope you'll feel better soon!

Younger folk have better teeth than my generation do because governments started adding fluoride to drinking water. I wish I'd inherited my granddad's tooth gene - he had one filling and lost one tooth in his life.

Aww bb, that sucks. I'm in the middle of my own dental nightmare right now (just had all four wisdoms pulled yesterday), so I feel your pain. Teeth are the worst. Too many things can go wrong, and almost no insurance will cover them (at least around here). Not to mention, they can't just heal like other parts of our bodies.

*MANY HUGS*

All 4 wisdom teeth out at once? Ouch nasty! I've had two of mine out but at different times and that was unpleasant enough. Hope your holes heal up quickly my dear!

Thanks! I hope so too...at least I'm on some decent drugs for the pain, and already feeling better than I did yesterday. :) They put me in a twilight sleep, so I was able to respond to the oral surgeon, but I remember absolutely nothing about the procedure itself after the IV went in. Probably a good thing, since I've been told they had to dig into bone for a couple of them. >_

Twilight sleep? Never heard of that before, it sounds kind of cool! I just had locals for mine and it was very disconcerting. I couldn't feel anything but the sounds were horrible and I felt like the guy was leaning on my jaw so hard it might come off!

It didn't actually hurt too badly once the drugs wore off, so fingers crossed you will find it's ok too.

It's basically a mild anesthesia that doesn't knock you out entirely, but leaves you awake and aware enough to respond to questions and, once it wears off, mostly unable to remember the experience. I have a hazy recollection of filling my prescription at the store afterwards, but nothing at all of my mom driving me to get there, or the conversation I supposedly had with the surgeon before we left. It's disconcerting, but actually rather nice not to remember.

I have not had good experiences with dentists in the past. This is infinitely preferable.
