So this year I signed up for art and fic - and this was the mini-bang fic I managed to bag!  It was an interesting and different challenge, being a period piece set in England.  And I suppose with Kate having gone into labour today, having a Royal themed art and fic posted couldn't be better timed! Title: The King's Hunters: New Friends, New Lives
Authorsramblin_rosie & jennytork
Summary: By some fluke or special grace, three Americans turn up at Sandringham House shortly before Christmas of 1902 and rescue seven-year-old Bertie from the torment inflicted by his demon-possessed nanny. Bertie suddenly finds himself with two new friends who know the strangest things and who won't take any guff from his arrogant older brother. He's delighted when Sam and Dean discover that they can't go home right away, and Sam and Dean decide having a ringside seat to history won't be all bad. But what will John say when he finds out that Dean's been hired as Bertie's governor? And will any of the Winchesters remember what they need to know to avoid getting caught in one of the greatest naval disasters of all time? (Teenchesters, fusion of sorts with The King's Speech. First in a probable trilogy, but stands alone.)

I had so many different ideas for this one and have to apologise to my lovely authors for only ending up offering them this meagre set.  I don't know where the time went...
Here's a larger version of the banner/cover page

The main pic/banner comes with matching chapter headers
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
And that's all folks... Hope you like it and it's enough to tempt you to read the fic!  It's an interesting and original AU, well worth a look.

You know, I find yellow really hard to work with, but you made it work here. I guess it fits with the sepia tone of old photographs. I love the historical photographs you used, so I'm curious to read the story. I really like how you divided the headers. I didn't notice that until the second time. Lovely art my dear :)

Funnily enough, the yellow was really a kind of accident, stemming from using the coat of arms, I wouldn't have chosen it normally! So I'm very glad you think it worked in the end.
