Star Trek Into Darkness - I will say a couple of things about it, hopefully non spoilery -
First: that's the trouble with tribbles, you know... and
second: they used a moment from one of the original episodes involving hands and a glass door and I might just have squeaked a little, very quietly, inside.

Other than that, it was good clean fun, and Mr Cumberbatch was pretty damned awesome.  I still can't help wincing every time they show a huge close up of Chris Pine.  Boy oh boy, is that man UGLY.  Very blue, very lovely eyes but the face?  Ouch.

I'm going to see it tonight!!

And LOL, you are the first person I've known to find Chris Pine unattractive. Zachary Quinto is way funnier looking imo. John Cho, though--boy's a dream boat.

John Cho is lovely, and I prefer Zachary Quinto to Chris Pine though I think that is the eyes again, I prefer dark ones. But neither of them float my boat looks wise.

I've always liked Pine, thought he was quite handsome in that movie about the runaway train -- he did that after the first Trek movie -- and the romantic comedy, 'This Means War' or something like that. But I'll admit it, there was something off in the way they portrayed him in the 2nd Trek movie. Times I sat back in my chair, recoiling at the close shot of him. And other times, oooh.. just melted in my seat.

So yeah, not sure what it was. Is. I dunno... BUT! Fun movie!! My 15 year old kept asking "What?!" every time I sqeeked over one reference or another to the early Trek series or the latter movies with original Spock and Kirk. Had to hand-flap him during the movie to let him know I'd explain later..

I'm afraid my later explanations weren't very thrilling. Guess you had to be an original viewer to 'get it' :D But I loved all of it. And Karl Urban and Bones.. he's got a new series coming out on Fox this coming Fall. Androids, dude, and I'm not talking phones.

Oh Karl Urban as Bones was a genius bit of casting - he had less to do in this one than in the first one but he is just so right for that part, it's quite spooky.

That reaction to Chris is exactly what was happening to me, sometimes I was thinking, oh, he's not that unattractive after all tehn the next minute there would be a massive close up where his face just looked so puffy and squashed I'd be going EW!

Hey now!!! Chris isn't ugly!!! He just needs his eyebrows thinned and lightened to match his hair.

tribbles-- te-he.

The switch at the glass door from the original bothered me a bit but I still cried. The 1st time I cried-- I was 10 and cried like I was dying!

Half vulcans are my fav!

he he it's a long time since I saw the original so I couldn't remember who was where, so that switcheroo didn't bother me. I just went with the flow and enjoyed the heck out of it.
