SPN Episode insta reaction - Spoilers

I cried - I know I'm a soppy bugger.Dean's little suicide mission speech brought a tear to my eye, but Sam's speech to Dean - not only telling him how much he is worth (he's a genius and the best hunter ever) but also how much Sam wants him in his life - yeah, genuine tears and a little sniffle from me for that.

So quick thoughts: ♥♥♥♥

• Dean's room!  And his childlike joy at the memory foam "it remembers me!"


• Dean's photo of Mary, the look on Sam's face when he saw it, and when he looked round Dean's nest


• Dean cooked!  He cooked for Sam and Sam loved it!


• Sam's face when he sneaked back for the burger


• Sam's reading EVERYthing


• Dean gave smelly Kevin a hug - aw.


• And of course, Sam's speech to Dean at the end.  How much did big bro need to hear that?  And how much does Sam need Dean to trust him...

Aw fuck moments:

• Dean: I'm a grunt, you're the brains - still he doesn't believe he is worth anything, he's just there for die for Sam, or for anyone


• Dean! You gave poor Kevin uppers!


• God - it's official, you are a useless bastard - why can't you even look after your wretched prophets if nothing else?  Look at the state of Kevin.  And show, you could at least bring his Mum back to make him eat some fruit and veg.  It's got to be desperate if even Dean is recommending salad.

I just hope Dean was listening, that he really heard what Sam was saying.

Yes this is true - the look on his face at the end was stricken and so open...surely some of it sank in this time, though you can't overcome a lifetime of being hardwired to think you don't matter, in just one night.

I downloaded it this morning, and have only had time to see the first ten minutes so far, but I've just got to say two words:

Dean. nesting.

Dean's pride in his room, his gun decorations, his neatly made bed (puts mine to shame), and his photo of his Mom ... *sniffles*

I am just in stomach-clenching squeeeeee heaven. Can't wait to see the rest tonight!

This episode made me cry TWICE!! First at Dean's speech to Sam about his happy ending is for Sam to be bald and fat drinking viagra with kids and grandkids.. Then again at Sam who said Dean was a Genius, best hunter, better than him or their dad.. wants him to live and wants to show him the light at the end of the tunnel. Really this episode was Perfect Brotherly love at its best.

Dean and the bedroom was epic. I loved how he got mad at Sam when he threw the gum wrapper on the floor.. :) Dean's a neat freak. lol

Nesting Dean, domestic Dean.. awesome Dean.. \0/

I cried too!

My first reaction was that it gave me the warm fuzzies :P. This was the first time in a long time that the show really has felt like SPN again, with the brothers being the focus and the myth arc finally being about them again. Not to mention the heartfelt moments between them during the episode and Sam's speech to Dean at the end :). I re-watched Yellow Fever and It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester last night, and usually I find that watching a S8 episode after an earlier season episode is a bit jarring, but going to season 8 today it really did feel like the same show again.

I watched the new episode this morning, before I went swimming, met a friend for coffee, and went food shopping ,and I've been smiling about it all day... just feeling mellow and happy about it :P. Big difference from 2 weeks ago, where my first reaction to As Time Goes By was that I hated it, and found it boring, and it went against my view of John's family.

I was prepared not to like this episode, having seen mentions of Kevin and the tablet, Crowley, and trials they have to go through, and was expecting something along the lines of a Kevin/Crowley/warehouse torture episode, or Defending Your Life from last season, so I was pleasantly surprised with this one. So many little moments in it that I loved :).

Ah well I hadn't seen anything about this episode at all, I think all I knew in advance was Kevin was going to appear, and I do think it helps me anyway, not even seeing the previews.

I can't remember the last time BOTH brothers opened up like this in the same episode, without punching. Now I want to see Dean go into full Mother Hen mode, "If you're gonna do the trials (scrapes scrambled eggs onto Sam's plate) then chew your food."

THIS EPISODE. MY HEART. EXPLODING. I love the beginning of this arc, even if it did have to come in the middle of the season. But. Dean's room! The Batcave! Sam & Dean and their EPIC LOVE STORY, and them both expressing their feeling!!!!!
And I loved Sam's glasses. They were dorky, but all kinds of hot. Hnnngh.

I... almost forgot about that, there were so many cool things happening in this episode. Something about his t-shirt (no layers!) drenched in the black blood was veeeerry visually appealing, too. And the bit where Sam was touching the papaer, and it reacted to him, glowing inside his arm? That was a gorgeous image. This episode, man. This episode.

Absolutely everything about this episode was absolutely adorable. The boys were so darling in every possible way, though I do also love Kevin's mom and think she should be hanging out with him. But other than that, pure adorableness. And I'm just going to pretend I didn't love Dean's 'I'm a grunt' comment...
