Just a brief update on the eye op - Paul escorted me there and back and even made me dinner this evening, bless his little cotton socks. i think I should put the computer away now though, because the eye is now feeling quite sore and looking rather inflamed. I have this clear plastic patch thingy that I'm supposed to keep in place until tomorrow morning, but I've undone it once to put the anti-inflammatory eye drops in, because it's a lot redder and angry-looking now than it was when I took this pic earlier today.
The new corneal consultant (who was a rather handsome young devil, though I shouldn't notice such things) was very good. He had a chat with me beforehand, explaining that the corneal scarring made this more complicated (both the op and the recovery), and so he's put me back on the anti virals as well as the steroid drops to try and make sure the shingles virus doesn't get stirred up by the trauma to the eye. Hope that works! It has been dormant a long time now and I really don't want that scar to get any larger, thanks!
So anyway, I think it's been a success - from what I can see through the plastic, all the cloudiness has gone so yay for that. Plus he said if the remnant of the lens clouds again this a) won't be a result of the continued use of steroids (which I will need to keep using) and b) can be fixed really easily.
( A bit of detail about the op - don't read if squeamish! )Anyhow - I survived! LOL
Thanks very much for all the well wishes and good vibes my dears! I appreciate it!
