This month's
drawesome challenge is creating art without intent. You're meant to stop thinking and see what happens - which is both hard and easy!
I've got two offerings, though the second did have a purpose so is kind of a cheat.
I did this one first, starting it with a Ohuhu alcohol marker but switching to fountain pen after a few minutes because the way the marker ink was spreading out from the lines was annoying me and defeating the whole not thinking thing.

Then a few days later I was trying to get some sculpture trail designs done, and had an idea about doing a doodle design. So I picked up a Pentel brush pen and doodled this one.
I think I can count it towards this challenge because though the end result has a purpose, the process of just putting brush to paper and seeing what happened was the same.

I think the original automatic drawing idea isn't supposed to end up with anything recognisable but my hand to brain to hand is programmed to make shapes into things so...shrugs.

And I totally get you about the brain needing to make sense of the shapes! I had to struggle continuously to redirect my mind's eye from wanting to creating realistic looking things out of every line or shape I started.

Date: 2022-01-09 09:11 am (UTC)And the second one I find an absolute delight. Everywhere my eye travels I find another creature peeking back at me unexpectedly from some charming tucked away spot. I love that what looks at first to be a beautiful random pattern is so full of happy little creatures π (except for the fish π Iβm not sure they are having such a happy day but π€·π»ββοΈπ) β absolutely love it! π
