This was my offering this year.

Saving it for the health club...


Though this is Sam and Dean, not J2, I deliberately left off the anti-possession tattoos because I think Zachariah would have erased them (somehow) to avoid awkward questions.
I ended up not much liking this final picture, and I can't put my finger on why. Maybe the colour scheme? Or Sam's face being too sharp/ Dean's profile getting lost a bit between drawing and painting? I dunno.

I did a test sketch for the pose first, on a large sheet of paper using a pierre noire pencil, and I actually liked this one better.

Mmmm, this is lovely and makes me imagine all kinds of things they've saved for the health club! I love Sam's hands on Dean's shoulders, and the way Dean's looking round at him. And I always love that you add Dean's freckles, yum! I can sort of see what you mean about the end product, but I just think the yellow is a bit harsh, being bright rather than warm. But I love it, bravo!

dean looks so pink! boy needs to go out in the sun more. i don't think sam's face is too sharp, but dean's expression looks a little more anticipatory in the preliminary sketch and first watercolor. in the final painting he doesn't look as excited? i guess? maybe a little more surprised? it's only noticeable because you have progress shots, tho. the final pic is still really great, and clearly a prelude to... things. :D

Ha ha yes, Dean is a bit pink - and I think you've nailed my discomfort with his face. I liked his expression in the sketch, not so much in the finished one. Hey ho. Thanks!

the pink isn't a bad thing! maybe he and sam should sit in a sauna for a little bit so they're both pink and sweaty. *wink wink nudge nudge*
