I wasn't going to do this one, because my answer to rather too many of the questions seems to be "I don't remember!!!" But sod it, here I go.
1. Who was your FIRST prom date?
We didn't have Proms or any such shenanigans when I was at school, and if we had I probably wouldn't have gone. Or I'd have gone with my bessie mate, Rachel, because she was my dancing companion when we used to go to the Liverpool Polytechnic discos and dance on our own at the back.
2. Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
Nope. He was my best friend's older brother Mark who I crushed on like mad up from aged 7 until I was about 14. And I never spoke to him then, so why would I talk to him now he's married and living in Switzerland?? LOL
3. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
Now this is an I don't remember, I think my parents probably gave me wine when I was young, but I hated it. My friends got me drinking southern comfort and lemonade when I was 17 and I hated that too. After one evening's session where I drank 7 in a row really fast because it tasted so disgusting, I was (surprise surprise) horrible sick and largely gave up on any alcoholic drinks after that.
4. What was your FIRST job?
A casual clerical officer at the Manpower Services Commission (part of the UK Civil Service). That was supposed to tide me over until I found a nice job in archaeology, or museums or a library. I'd been in the civil service for c9 years before I met a single person who actually wanted to be there!
5. What was your FIRST car?
A brown Allegro. It was very old with a manual choke, and had a lot of trouble going up hills.
6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
Nobody yet.
7. Who is the FIRST person you talked to this morning?
Hubby. As usual.
8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher, tell us about them?
I honestly cannot remember my first teacher, I've been wracking my brain but all I can remember is that I liked her so much one time I accidentally called her Mum. The first teacher I can really remember is Mrs Goodyear, who was my form teacher when I was 9 and was wonderful. She got me interested in history, and reading historical novels, and shell collecting.
9. Where did you go on your FIRST air plane ride?
The Isle of Man when I was about 3. I do remember that.
10. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk?
Rachel Henney moved in across the road from me when we were 7 and yes, we are still in touch though we don't actually see each other very often, since I moved down south. She was like a sister to me and we still have a deep affection.
11. Where was your FIRST sleep over?
At my Granny's.
13. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time?
I may have inadvertently attended my Uncle Frank's wedding, as I think my Mum was pregnant with me at the time, but the first one I remember was my Aunty Norah's, were I was bridesmaid.
14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
I woke up about 5am and made a note of something to remember to write into a fic. Then I laid there for half an hour thinking about getting up before going back to sleep again.
15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
Now I really don't remember this - it could have been any number of classical concerts or maybe an opera if that counts - as my parent s certainly took me to things when I was a kid. The first concert I can remember clearly, going to of my own volition was a band called Stackridge (who are still going). They were pretty damn good live. (I also went to see Barclay James Harvest and the Eagles around that time...)
16. FIRST tattoo?
Not got any. I used to use those do it yourself ones out of bazooka joe bubble gum though....!
17. FIRST piercing?
Single ear piercings when I was early 20s under the influence of my mother in law!
18. FIRST foreign country you went to?
I reckon this must be France as my Mum was a French teacher and we used to go nearly every summer.
19. FIRST movie you remember seeing?
Disney's Snow White. I was terrified of the dark woods and the wicked queen and that is all I remember. Flaming Ada, that really was a long time ago!
20. When was your FIRST detention?
I never had detention. I did get lines and then the cane when I was about 10, our Head was a very scary woman.
22. Who was your FIRST roommate?
I shared a room second year at University with one of the Marys (there were 2 in our house), who I later learned had decided she was gay, had got married and had a chicken baster-aided child with her partner. None of which excitement had been even hinted at when we were living together in Morecambe.
23. If you had ONE wish, what would it be?
That people would be more generous, tolerant and compassionate with each other. That would cure a multitude of ills...
24. What is something you would learn if you had the chance?
Mmm I have the chance to learn things, just not the inclination to apply myself. Italian.
25. Did you marry the FIRST person to ask for your hand in marriage?
No. I dumped him for the man I have been married to for some 28 years - oh and I had to ask him to marry me!
26. What was the FIRST sport that you were involved in?
Playground stuff in junior school - rounders, and shinty.
27. What were the FIRST lessons you ever took?
Depends what you mean - extra curricular would be French lessons from my Mum. She tried to bribe me to learn but I wasn't interested. Or maybe swimming lessons came first?
28. What is the FIRST thing you do when you get home?
Sit down and get my laptop out! Drives hubby crazy...
