Fic Summary: Jared and Jensen start work on a joint project; a Viking Epic, being filmed in the freezing cold snow covered mountains of Russia. An amorous director, a jealous Jensen, and a sneaky Jared make filming an experience none of them will ever forget.

For the j2_reversebang I got to work with Writer!Milly - holy moly, she's speedy! I think she had the fic written before she'd even claimed the art. No pressure, huh? LOL Anyhow, we had fun working on this one, hopefully it shows!

The woffle about stuff:
I didn't have anything in particular in mind when I did the prompt, I just wanted to try drawing the boys with long hair and Viking gear, so when Milly told me her filming idea I was all for it. But then I kind of ignored the modern angle for the extra art and drew more Viking J2 and some weapons that feature in the story.
The prompt was done on Ingres coloured paper with sanguine and white koh-i-nor pencil, and this is what it looks like before I enhanced the contrast a bit in PS and put a border round it.

Yep, not much different, really. The other two pieces were graphite pencil on white paper (because I'm too worried about messing up my expensive coloured paper, even though I've had some pads of it for more than twenty years and it's high time I used it!)
The banner drawing

The sword and hammer - done with Aquarelle soluable graphite pencils and wash.

I'm afraid in both the drawings of the Js I got Jensen's face wrong, but I didn't have time to draw them again!
There wasn't much process - just drawing from suitable references with varying amounts of success! Oh apart from the banner, which has shading and highlights and colouring done in PS.

I so did not *ahem* I may have had some solid ideas to work from, but - yeah okay I might just have been plotting ideas from the second I saw your artwork XD Can you blame me, look at it! ♥ It was a complete pleasure to work with you hun, not once but twice this year. How are they so SOFT? Must be the white pencil, I love what you did with that! Their long hair suits them and oh my, the strong jawlines are gorgeous. Great job on the details and 3D depth in the storyheader (I love their hair there tooooo) and the drawings of the weapons. It's all beautiful artwork, AMB. (You made me forget my confusion about there being a parallel ReverseBang;)

The main pic is fairly textured paper, and those koh-i-nor pencils are quite soft. Glad you like it!

i think this is one of the pieces that i would've picked if i'd signed up for the bang on time. i mean, look at them! the long hair! the furs! the vikingness! i love the banner too, especially the romancey one, because jensen has big hearteyes. :D and the shading is just really nice.

Oh that reminds me (and I know it's late!) the longest brush is about 35cm so I reckon the roll up case should be 37cm - and each slot could vary to accommodate different thicknesses of brushes. I was going to talk about shafts but that just sounded dirty LOL!!!
