The Lion has Landed!

My living room has been rearranged and thankfully the lion fit through the doors so he's now safely ensconced in the bay window. My back is killing me from all the tidying and furniture-moving, so I've just spent the last hour or so sitting on the sofa (now in the fireplace!) contemplating his magnificent whiteness. I may start drawing out the design on him tomorrow.
Here's the room awaiting delivery this morning. The tape measure was there to reassure me that I'd cleared sufficient space for a 1.7m long lion.

The chairs, settee and other stuff are now squished into one corner of the room. You'd never believe I've got rid of a huge amount of junk, would you? LOL

The poor delivery driver had to come down from Scotland to deliver a rhino to Norfolk, a lion to Suffolk and was then off to Essex with his last critter.

I'm really grateful to the random chap passing by who stopped to help the delivery guy offload the lion from the lorry - especially as he didn't have one of those hydraulic lift thingies on the back to get it down!
And here he is, the King of the Jungle aka the king of the bay window - wrapped

And unwrapped!

I think I'm going to try a more measured approach to painting him, having watched a really helpful video by one of the other artists who's done a few of these sculptures. I'm so happy I found the acrylic marker pens too! I feel much more confident of being able to do a much neater-looking finish now I have those for the finer detail!
Wish me luck, because the bears arrive in a week's time!
