I've been away doing family things and it was depressing - all the old folk are getting older and falling apart on me, and I'm worried about all of them, so I'm doing this instead. I'm also behind on Inktober and all sorts of other fun things, maybe I'll get back on track tomorrow.

You aren't clever? Pish! You're intelligent in ways some people don't even understand the concept of. The difference between you (and a lot of my fandom folks) and other people is that you think sideways not front ways and quite frankly that's a way better mind set to have :)

It's the feeling of inevitability of it all - my uncle's dementia has suddenly worsened, my aunt is having blackouts but hates doctors and hospitals so probably won't do anything about it until she collapses in a public place again, my Mum's mind's sharp as ever but she's getting rather doddery... and of course the ones who are cantankerous bastards and you wouldn't miss are fit as fiddles.

Getting older means there is a horrible period where all our old folk are reaching that stage where they are ill or demented, while we are starting to feel a bit creaky too. It is not a good time!
