Imzy invites

There's a new site started up which is like LJ and Dreamwidth and I don't know what else. There are fandom communities on there, and it looks like it might take off. I've got 15 invites to hand out so if anyone is interested and fancies giving it a go, just tell me. Either leave your email in the comments or PM it to me so I can send you the invitation.

That reminds me - I signed up for an Imzy and couldn't quite work out how to use it. Are you the same user name over there? Can we only connect through communities. i can't see any way to build friendships like here. I have five invites too but I haven't offered them because I don't see how its an improvement on all the separate communities I already belong to.

You'll probably find you have more invites to offer now, that's what happened to me. I just found out after posting this that when you comment on something over there, they only notify you of the first comment response and then you have to keep checking yourself to see if any more conversation takes place. That's actually no good for me - I forget to check. I need alerts, notifications, prompts to tell me I need to look at something, which is why LJ's ability to email me is so good.

Oh and yes, I'm amberdreams over there too, for what it's worth.

Ha, yes, I have that same issue, i need to be told. I still miss some comments on AO3 and that has a slightly more robust system (I think). I searched for you on Imzy but yeah,apparently there's either no way to connect without going through the tortuous process of searching for the same communities and seeing a thread with you on it, but i might be missing something. Pretty unworkable for me so far.

I think it will be something I might dip in and out of when I remember - there are possibly some useful communities for art and stuff but I don't feel inclined to spend a lot of time trying to find out how it works.

I'm confused too - I think I might have found a couple of nice art coms but at the moment I fail to see how I'd post on them or engage with people... I'm definitely still happiest here on LJ!
