In summary: Sam's been working as a busboy in Garber for a couple of days. He turns up for his shift to find a taciturn stranger propping up the bar.

I was going to try a new art software package but then I started playing in PS and ended up finishing it there.

My boys together! It's awesome that you chose to have Sam be working there when Bucky stops by. I love the atmosphere of the place, all smokey and Bucky all brooding and full of angst. The reference picture of Sebastian is a great one of him. I wonder what Sam noticed about Bucky besides a similar appreciation for longer hair. In his own way, Sam has some similar experiences to Bucky with a forced introduction to super soldier serum and betrayal by the cause he thought was the right one. I doubt Bucky does much speaking with anyone post the events in the Winter Soldier, but it would be interesting to get an interior monologue from each of them. They are both probably aware of everyone in the room, potential weapons, and all the escape routes. I wonder what Bucky drinks now that his memories are coming back. I know he probably can't get drunk but maybe he still remembers the taste of American beer or misses good vodka. He's not impressed with the current incarnation of Coca-cola and is baffled by pulp-free orange juice.

I do like Bucky and have seen the Winter Soldier but only once, and so I wasn't all that confident about writing him. But I do have an idea in my head to go with this pic so maybe I will still have a go at writing it. But first I have to finish art for two meanttobes and two casefics, plus finish writing my own casefic. LOL

Well this is gorgeous. I love Bucky's silent brooding and Sam's quiet observation of him. I love the smoky bar atmosphere. I love both the black and white and the colour, but honestly, I think I prefer the colour version. There's just something about the way his face is lit in the colour version that just accentuates his broodiness! Beautiful, anyway. :)

Wonderful! Firstly it's an awesome pairing to put together, but I simply love the dark and broody atmosphere of the bar with the shadows and smoke and how you've played with the light. I love Sam's observant pose too, like he keeping an eye on him, or is worried or threatened. You've captured Bucky's face beautifully (and that coloured version is so cool, it's like aura's or something!)

Oh, this is WONDERFUL. I'm absolutely nuts about Bucky AND Sam, and to see them together ...! I adore the way Bucky glows, his brooding intensity, the smoke, everything about the lighting. I love the colorwash version just as much! Absolutely fantastic, you. :-)

This is so very pretty!! It has a grea atmosphere and a nice little moment of quiet observation. The b&w could be from any b&w movie, the moment right before they start talking, but the colors bring some added danger and urgency to it. ♥

Most of what I know comes from one viewing of The Winter Soldier (and I must watch it again before Civil War comes out!) and from reading one or two Steve/Bucky fanfics. I wish I had time to read more!

This is one of my absolute favorites of yours, and with all the wonderful works you've produced, that's saying something. There's a real connection there, a sameness to Bucky and Sam that I might never have seen without this, though I've thought of them before... I love how Sam's feeling of the connection is expressed all in his body; we don't even need to clearly see his face-- but then his face is so beautiful and adds to it, too, and. BUCKY. You captured him so perfectly. I adore both the color and B&W, but I'm with you on loving the B&W best-- the luminosity of it is stunning. The smoke, the lighting, the details, but most of all the feeling-- this was masterful! GO YOU. <3
